Chinese Company Manger visits UoS to strengthen agricultural collaboration

SARGODHA, Jan 01 (APP): Luan Xiufeng, Manager of Chinese company Chengdu Yihe, on Thursday visited the University of Sargodha (UoS) and met Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas to discuss collaboration in the agricultural sector, with a particular focus on drone technology.
According to the spokesperson for UOS here, during the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to initiate hands-on training programs for faculty members and students.
Director ORIC Prof Dr Ahmad Raza Bilal and Chairman, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Prof Dr Athar Nadeem were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the meeting, Luan Xiufeng stated that Pakistan is an agricultural country where per-acre productivity can be significantly enhanced through modern agricultural technologies, especially drone technology.
He appreciated the new agricultural projects, modern equipment, and patents introduced at the College of Agriculture, noting that these initiatives have given a new identity to agriculture in the region.
He further remarked that the UoS holds recognition not only across Pakistan but also internationally due to its continuous academic and research collaborations with global universities.
Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas briefed the Chinese delegation on the university’s ongoing academic, research, and innovative projects.
He highlighted the university’s commitment to regional development in line with the demands of the 21st century, particularly through the adoption of modern technologies in agriculture.
He stressed that the presence of qualified agricultural experts has enabled the university to achieve remarkable success in this field.
Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas further expressed confidence that, with Chinese cooperation, the university would soon be able to develop advanced agricultural drones, which would bring a new dimension to regional agriculture.
At the end, the Vice Chancellor presented a commemorative souvenir to Luan Xiufeng.
