HARIPUR, Nov 01 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Captain (R) Muhammad Safdar Awan has said that May 9 marked an attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty and defense, terming the incidents of vandalism at GHQ and Quaid-e-Azam’s residence in Lahore a national tragedy.
He said the people of Haripur are united against the traitors of Madar-e-Millat and vowed that November 23 will bring victory for PML-N candidate Babar Nawaz Khan.
Addressing a large public gathering at the residence of former provincial minister Qazi Muhammad Asad in Haripur, Captain (R) Safdar said their political struggle is against those who attacked democracy, the Constitution, and national security on May 9. He stated that Mian Nawaz Sharif has always sacrificed for Pakistan and promoted a politics of service to the people.
Praising Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Captain (R) Safdar said she had proven herself a true daughter and daughter-in-law of Hazara Division by gifting the people an international-standard stadium and a hospital at Jharki Kass, projects that will benefit the entire region.
He further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the construction of a Daanish School costing Rs 6 billion on 4,000 kanals of land vacated by the Afghan refugee camp in Haripur, along with a 10-marla housing scheme for the Tarbela Dam affectees.
Captain (R) Safdar added that the PML-N government would also provide natural gas to Haripur’s deprived areas.
The gathering was also addressed by former provincial minister Qazi Muhammad Asad, PML-N National Assembly candidate Babar Nawaz Khan, PML-N district president Sahibzada Hamid Shah, and other party officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Babar Nawaz Khan said that Punjab is progressing rapidly under PML-N leadership, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains mired in the politics of sit-ins and disruption. He reaffirmed that PML-N will eliminate Haripur’s deprivations and make public service its top priority.
