BZU arranges hands-on workshop on pet clinic shop management

MULTAN, Nov 03 (APP):The Department of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) organized a practical workshop in its surgery section, showcasing a fully established Pet Clinic and Shop model. The was event aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge of small animal clinical operations, facilities, and clinic management systems.
The workshop’s objective was to prepare students for their future professional careers by enabling them to establish and manage their own veterinary clinics. Participants received hands-on guidance on clinic setup, medicine supply chains, client interaction, and business administration—key components for becoming successful veterinary practitioners.
Students from the ninth semester of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) programme actively participated in the session, showing keen interest in the practical aspects of clinic operations.
They were also introduced to various clinical instruments, accessories, and shop-related materials to gain real-world experience in veterinary entrepreneurship.
The workshop was organized under the supervision of Prof Dr. Tanveer Ahmad (and Dr. Faisal Ayub Kayani with support from Dr. Abdul Asim Farooq, In-Charge of the Surgery Section.
A display of clinical equipment and supplies was arranged to enhance the students’ practical understanding. The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and the Chairman of the Department of Clinical Sciences visited the Pet Clinic and Shop setup, lauding the initiative as an important step toward promoting professional competence among veterinary students.
They emphasized that such hands-on and skill-based activities are vital for modern veterinary education and should be encouraged regularly.
At the closing session, faculty members appreciated the students’ enthusiasm, noting that experiential learning programs like this play a pivotal role in strengthening students’ practical training and professional capabilities.
