MULTAN, Nov 08 (APP): A breast cancer awareness seminar was organized at the Women University Multan in collaboration with Ferozsons Laboratories Ltd. and Nishtar Medical University & Hospital. According to the university spokesperson, the session aimed to raise awareness among students about early diagnosis, preventive measures, and the correction of common misconceptions about breast cancer.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kalsoom Paracha, who was the chief guest, emphasized the importance of awareness among women, especially the younger generation. She said early detection makes treatment possible, and therefore promoting awareness, self-examination, and regular screening is the need of the hour. She added that empowering women through knowledge was the first step toward saving lives.
Dr. Paracha said the Women University is committed not only to academic excellence but also to promoting health awareness and social responsibility. She announced that the university will continue organizing similar programs on health, awareness, and well-being to help students play a positive role in both academic and social spheres.
Guest speaker Dr. Rana Attique Anwar Khan, Associate Professor and Head of Clinical Oncology at Nishtar Medical University, delivered a detailed lecture on the symptoms, causes, risks, and preventive measures of breast cancer. He and his team also demonstrated screening methods and addressed common misconceptions with scientific reasoning.
Registrar Dr. Samina Akhtar, Director Students Affairs Dr. Adeela Saeed, faculty members, and a large number of students attended the seminar.
