QUETTA, Feb 08 (APP): The Balochistan Police registered 352 cases and arrested 1,698 suspects during special operations against criminal elements, drug dealers, fugitives, and individuals involved in serious crimes across the province.
According to police spokesperson, acting on the instructions of IG Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan, the force carried out targeted actions against drug peddlers, vehicle theft, mobile phone snatching, banditry, and other crimes.
They seized 6 stolen vehicles, 67 motorcycles, 24 mobile phones, 35 tolas of gold, millions of rupees, 135 pistols, 19 revolvers, 20 Kalashnikovs, 1329 rounds, 114 magazines, thousands of litres of petrol and diesel, and rescued 6 hostages.
During the campaign, the police registered 148 cases and arrested 147 accused and seized 135 pistols, 19 revolvers, 20 Kalashnikovs, 1329 rounds, and 114 magazines from their possession.
While 204 cases were registered against drug peddlers and 213 accused were detained and 2799.75 kg of hashish, 2442.536 kg of ice shisha, 573 bottles of alcohol, 129 beers, 84 grams of heroin, 10 kg of cannabis, and 1687.061 kg of opium. In addition, 6 stolen vehicles, 67 motorcycles were recovered, 155 declared suspects, 342 absconding suspects, while 841 suspects were detained for various crimes and 6 hostages were rescued.
During the operations, 24 mobile phones, 35 tolas of gold, 165 thousand in cash, 4950 Iranian diesel, 21376 liters of Iranian gasoline were seized, tinted windows were removed from 2387 vehicles and 17 vehicles were stopped in 550 operations. In 2010, Iranian cigarettes, cotton, 68 prohibited illegal drugs were also seized. Balochistan Police is carrying out operations across the province to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people.
In addition, targeted operations were conducted in different districts of 7 ranges, including Quetta, in which various serious crimes, such as theft, robbery, declared and absconding accused were arrested.
