HAVELIAN, Oct 31 (APP): Director (PME) Population Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Syed Imran Shah on Friday said that maintaining a balance between population growth and available resources is vital for ensuring a dignified and prosperous life for all citizens.
He was speaking as chief guest at a one-day seminar on “Balancing Population Growth and Raising Awareness Among Youth About Its Challenges,” held at Abbottabad University under the joint collaboration of the Population Welfare Department and UNFPA.
The seminar was also addressed by the Registrar of Abbottabad University and Saif-ur-Rehman, District Population Welfare Officer Abbottabad. The speakers highlighted the serious challenges posed by the rapid increase in population, stressing the need for greater awareness among youth regarding family planning, health, and social welfare.
They emphasized that maternal and child health must remain a top priority, as a healthy mother ensures a healthy family and, ultimately, a healthier nation. The unchecked population growth, they pointed out, needs to be addressed through awareness and family planning.
The participants were urged to plan their families in accordance with their financial and social means to help establish a balance between national resources and population growth. The event concluded with the message, “Balanced Population, Dignified Life.”
