SARGODHA, Oct 06 (APP):A delegation from the University of Queensland, Australia, and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) visited the University of Sargodha (UoS) on Monday to review progress on the Citrus Value Chain Project—a joint initiative aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s citrus sector from production to export.
According to a UoS spokesperson, the delegation included Dr Tim Sun, Senior Researcher at the University of Queensland; Dr Rajindra Adhikari, Project Leader and Professor at the University of Queensland; and Dr Munawar Raza Kazmi, Country Manager–Pakistan for ACIAR.
During the visit, the delegation met with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas and senior university officials to discuss ongoing collaborations and Australian-funded research projects. They were briefed on various academic and research initiatives being carried out in partnership with international institutions.
Later, the delegation visited field sites in Chak 118 and Chak 9NB where they observed on-ground project activities and engaged with citrus growers, processors, and exporters—key stakeholders in the citrus value chain.
The delegation expressed appreciation for the vice chancellor and his team’s efforts in advancing applied agricultural research and fostering meaningful international collaboration.
