SARGODHA, Oct 31 (APP): Regional Director (RD) Commander Anti-Narcotics Punjab Brigadier Sikandar Hayat Chaudhry, along with Assistant Director Nawaz on Friday visited the University of Sargodha (UoS) to explore avenues for mutual collaboration in combating drug abuse and promoting a drug-free academic environment.
According to the spokesperson for UOS here, the delegation held a meeting with Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan to discuss joint initiatives aimed at raising awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug use.
During the meeting, the Regional Director Anti-Narcotics briefed the university officials on the structure, hierarchy, and key functions of the Anti-Narcotics organization.
Both sides agreed to organize awareness activities such as seminars and walks to educate students on the physical and mental health impacts of drug abuse.
Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan while addressing the delegation highlighted the university’s academic programs, enrollment statistics, and student support facilities, emphasizing UoS’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy learning environment.
He also shared the ongoing measures undertaken by the university to sensitize students about the dangers of drugs and to foster a responsible campus culture.
The meeting was attended by Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof Dr Amir Ali, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Dr Usman Minhas, Dean Faculty Computing Science Prof Dr Muhammad Ilyas Registrar Mr. Waqar Ahmad, Director Student Affairs Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan and others.
