ANF arrests three suspects, seizes over 72 kg of narcotics in nationwide operations

RAWALPINDI, Mar 28 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested three suspects, including a woman, and seized 72.92 kilogrammes of narcotics worth more than Rs5.3 million in six operations carried out across the country.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the operations targeted both international and domestic drug trafficking networks.
In international interdiction efforts, ANF recovered 2 grams of cocaine from a parcel originating from the United Kingdom at a courier office in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi. In another operation at a courier facility near Karachi Airport, 790 grams of cannabis, soaked in paper, was seized from a parcel bound for the United Arab Emirates.
In domestic operations, 48 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Yaro Pishin, leading to the arrest of a suspect. In Quetta, 12 kg of hashish was seized from a woman near Musa Colony bus stop, and she was taken into custody.
In a separate operation near Yaro Pishin, ANF recovered a further 8 kg of hashish. Meanwhile, in the Kemari area of Karachi, 3.3 kg of hashish was seized from the possession of another suspect.
The spokesperson said cases had been registered against the arrested individuals under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997 (CNSA), and further investigations were underway.
