LAHORE, Dec 13 (APP): Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal on Saturday conducted a comprehensive inspection of Alhamra’s various departments to review facilities, operational systems and public service standards, and issued directions for further improvement in line with modern requirements.
He was accompanied by Deputy Director Administration Syed Umair Hassan, Deputy Director Programs Wasim Akram and other senior officers during the visit.
During the inspection, the Executive Director reviewed Alhamra Archives, Library, Burney Garden, galleries, halls, open and indoor areas, fire and safety zones, and other functional sections. He examined ongoing works, artist facilities, audience services, security arrangements and overall management systems to gain a detailed understanding of institutional operations.
On the occasion, Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said that continuous improvement, transparency, provision of an artist-friendly environment and delivery of quality cultural services to the public were among Alhamra’s top priorities.
He stressed that Alhamra must reflect progress, innovation and positive transformation at every level.
While inspecting various halls, he directed the officers concerned to further enhance security arrangements, fire safety measures, technical systems, lighting, acoustics, cleanliness and routine maintenance. He emphasized that the halls should be upgraded to meet modern performance and audience requirements.
During his visit to the Archives and Library, the Executive Director underscored the urgent need for digitization of records, preservation of valuable art material and promotion of a strong research culture. He directed all departments to align their operations with international standards.
He instructed that special focus be given to strengthening security and fire safety systems, improving artist facilities and public services, and enhancing cleanliness, renovation work and green spaces across the complex. He also directed that implementation of these measures be closely monitored to ensure timely execution and sustained institutional improvement at Alhamra.
