KARACHI, Jul 24 (APP):Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Department, on Wednesday, started a new route of environment friendly electric bus service connecting Bahria Town to Numaish Chowrangi in down town area of the metropolis.
At its outset, 12 electric buses will be operated on 55-kilometer-long EV-4 route to facilitate the commuters from different enroute areas of the Karachi including Bahria Town, Dunba Goth, Gulshan-e- Maimar, Suhrab Goth, Al Asif Square, Ayesha Manzil, Liaqatabad, Teen Hatti.
Pakistan Peoples Party’s Members Sindh Assembly Raja Abdul Razzaq and Sajid Jokhio inaugurated the new electric bus route at Bahria Town, said a statement issued here.
Speaking at the occasion they said that the new route of electric buses will not only enable people commuting easily to their place of employment but also reduce their travel expenses and traffic burden on the city roads.
Sindh Transport Department is all set to procure more buses and introduce new routes to provide best, affordable and modern travel facilities to the citizens, they stated.
