RAWALPINDI, Jan 28 (APP):The Rawalpindi Police have arrested six kite suppliers and recovered hundreds of kites and spools of string during the ongoing crackdown launched on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani.
The operation was carried out in different areas falling under the jurisdictions of the Civil Lines, Pirwadhai and Ganjmandi police stations, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
He said separate cases were registered against the arrested suspects and investigations were under way.
The spokesman said kite flying had been declared a non-bailable offence and warned that those involved in the activity, described as a dangerous and often deadly practice, would not escape the law.
