MULTAN, Oct 30 (APP): The local administration continued distributing compensation among the flood-hit people at the rehabilitation camp on Thursday in Jalalpur Pirwala, dealing 500 people every day, as the survey approaching its conclusion with only 12 Mauzas remain out of total 74 in the worst flood hit tehsil of Multan district.
Commissioner Multan Amir Kareem Khan visited the Jalalpur Pirwala Flood Rehabilitation Camp where he witnessed the distribution of ATM cards by the staff of Bank of Punjab.
“Payment of compensation was continuing in an organized and transparent manner through issuance of tokens to over 500 people every day,” Assistant Commissioner Mukarram Sultan said in a briefing. Affected people are brought to the camp from flood-hit areas by buses at 7am every morning.
Commissioner Khan also interviewed the affected people and said that so far no one has expressed any complaint. People expressed satisfaction on the ongoing process and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Commissioner also visited Nawaz Sharif School of Excellence, THQ hospital and stadium.
He was informed that teaching staff deployment would be completed by early Nov and enrolment of 1500 students has been achieved against a target of 2000. During visit to the stadium, officials informed that construction of indoor games hall and rehabilitation hall was in progress in addition to repair renovation of old block.
