4 injured in separate gas leakage explosions in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Jan 07 (APP):At least four individuals were injured in two separate gas leakage explosions that occurred in different areas of Rawalpindi on Wednesday.Rescue 1122 teams swiftly responded to the incidents and launched immediate relief operations.
According to Rescue 1122 Media Coordinator Muhammad Usman Gujjar, the first explosion took place in the Gulrez area. The blast occurred when the electricity button was switched on in a house, igniting the gas leak. As a result, two individuals suffered burn injuries.
The second explosion happened in the Dhamiyal Road Ahmedabad area, where a gas leak caused an explosion while lighting a fire. Two more individuals were injured in this incident, also suffering burns.
Rescue medical teams quickly provided first aid at the scene and later shifted the injured victims to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment. The victims included two men and two women.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Usman Gujjar urged the public to be remain extra cautious when using gas heaters, stoves, and other gas appliances, especially during the winter season.
He advised that in case of a gas smell, people should never turn on electrical switches or light a fire. Instead, they should immediately open all doors and windows to ventilate the house and evacuate family members to a safe location.
“Most gas leakage accidents are caused by small lapses in safety, which can easily be avoided through proper precautions,” Usman Gujjar emphasized.
He also reminded citizens to call the Rescue 1122 helpline immediately in case of any emergency to ensure a swift and effective response.
