LODHRAN, Nov 08 (APP): A meeting on wheat cultivation was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr Lubna Nazir to review the progress of the ongoing sowing season.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Assistant Commissioners and officers from the department of Agriculture.
It was told the meeting that wheat would be cultivated on 376,000 acres across the district during current year. So far, 130,000 acres have been cultivated, achieving 34 percent of the overall target.
It was further revealed that under the Board Field category, wheat has been cultivated on 20,000 acres, which represented 35 percent of the target.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to accelerate the pace of cultivation and ensure that farmers’ issues are promptly addressed.
