30 cops awarded for anti-crime operations

LAHORE, Jul 30 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar on Wednesday chaired a commendation ceremony at the Central Police Office to recognise police teams from across the province for their outstanding efforts in operations against hardened criminals.
A spokesperson for Punjab Police said that commendation certificates and cash awards were presented to 30 officers and personnel belonging to six police teams from Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Jhelum and Muzaffargarh. The awarded teams were acknowledged for their remarkable performance in tackling serious crimes, including murder, robbery, drug trafficking and theft.
According to details, in Jhelum, DSP Shahbaz Ahmed Hanjra and his team were honored for rescuing over 400 flood victims. Similarly, DSP Zulfiqar Ali Virk and his team received awards for conducting successful anti-narcotics operations and seizing a substantial quantity of narcotics.
Inspector Farhat Nawaz was awarded for arresting seven criminal gangs and recovering stolen property worth millions of rupees. Sub-Inspector Safdar Atta and his team were also recognized for apprehending a suspect involved in the murder of five individuals.
The recipients of the awards included two deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), three inspectors, six sub-inspectors, four assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), five head constables, and ten constables.
IGP Dr. Usman congratulated the awardees, praising their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding the public and upholding the rule of law.
The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, DIG Establishment-II Capt (retd) Liaqat Ali Malik, AIG Admin Asad Ijaz Malhi, AIG Inspection Shaista Nadeem and other senior officers.
