MULTAN, Oct 31 (APP):Continuing operations against defaulters and power pilferers, Disco Support Unit of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) witnessed 15 electricity connections stealing power through ‘Kunda’ and three of them were got arrested on-the-spot and sent to police lock-up in parts of Muzaffargarh.
A Mepco spokesman said on Friday that a team, led by SE Operations Muzaffargarh Sajid Hussan Gondal, targeted areas including Basti Murad Wala, Basti Chaman, Basti Labbay Wala, Basti Tibbi Sher Abad, Ali Pur bypass, Basti Qureshi, Basti Jatt Wala, and Bilal colony. Officials spotted fifteen connections operational illegally through ‘Kunda’ and three of these power pilferers were arrested.
Seven meters, 1000 feet LT conductor used in the pilferage were removed and taken in possession.
The Disco Support Unit also disconnected two connections and removed their transformers on charge of default. Request was also sent to police station for registration of cases.
