3 held for hawala-hundi involvement

LAHORE, Nov 01 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle Lahore conducted successful operations, arresting three suspects, including a proclaimed offender (PO), allegedly involved in hawala–hundi and illegal currency exchange activities.
According to the FIA officials, the arrested individuals were identified as Muhammad Hashim Sultani (Afghan national), Ghazi Khan, and Shafiullah. The suspects were apprehended during multiple raids carried out in Nowshera and Lahore.
Investigations revealed that Ghazi Khan had been wanted by the FIA Lahore since 2024. His associate, Jalat Khan, had previously been caught with Rs. 9.85 million in Pakistani currency. During the latest raids, Rs. 2.655 million were recovered from Muhammad Hashim Sultani and Shafiullah.
The FIA also seized mobile phones and other evidence related to hawala–hundi and illegal currency exchange operations. The suspects are now under investigation, while raids are ongoing to apprehend their remaining accomplices, added spokesperson.
