FAISALABAD, Aug 03 (APP):Three dacoits were killed while their two accomplices managed to escape after a police encounter in the area of Thikriwala police station.
A police spokesman said here on Saturday that Sabzi Mandi police post incharge SI Muzaffar Ali, during routine patrolling, saw two motorcycles carrying five persons near Dhinga Phattak Bypass late Friday night.
The police signaled them to stop but the outlaws opened firing and fled towards Abbaspur Road. The police chased them and called more force for help. Receiving information, the SHO Thikriwala police station along with his team also reached the spot and encircled the outlaws near Chak No.250-RB Bardekay Railway Phattak.
The police ordered the criminals for surrender but they once again opened firing at them. The police also retaliated and during the encounter, three criminals received injuries and fell down on the ground while their two accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
The police called Rescue 1122 for shifting the injured to hospital but in vain as all the three had expired. The police recovered three illegal pistols, a mobile phone and a motorcycle which was stolen from the area of Sadar police station some time ago.
The two killed outlaws were identified as Ahmad Ihtisham and Abdur Rehman, both of Chak No.66-JB, and wanted in a number of dacoity, robbery and other cases while the identification of their third accomplice is yet to be made. A special police team was also constituted to trace the escapees, the spokesman added
