LAHORE, Nov 03 (APP):Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza, the district administration and Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) have intensified anti-encroachment operations to ensure the success of Chief Minister’s “Suthra Punjab” campaign.
The MCL Regulation Wing executed a large-scale operation aimed at making Lahore an encroachment-free and aesthetically pleasing city, ensuring citizens’ uninterrupted access to roads and pedestrian pathways.
During the last 72 hours, the drive resulted in the removal of 2,123 encroachments, while all confiscated material was taken into official custody. Simultaneously, 9,494 illegal banners and flexes were removed from various parts of the city. In major commercial hubs such as Shah Alam Market, 2 illegal shops and 10 stalls were demolished, ensuring a cleaner and safer public environment.
DC Syed Musa Raza emphasized that these operations are vital for restoring public spaces and improving the quality of life for citizens. He directed all Assistant Commissioners to intensify actions against identified encroachment hotspots in their respective jurisdictions to ensure the complete removal of all obstructions to traffic flow. He reiterated that the District Administration Lahore is strictly implementing a zero-tolerance policy for the eradication of encroachments. All actions, he said, are being carried out lawfully, transparently, and systematically, as the law is equal for all.
Providing citizens with easy access to streets and roads remains a top priority for the administration, the DC affirmed, adding that the grand anti-encroachment operations will continue impartially across all areas of Lahore.
For complaints or information related to encroachments, citizens may contact the Control Room at 0307-0002345 or reach out via official social media platforms.
