20 law-breakers rounded up; drugs, liquor, weapons & stake money seized

RAWALPINDI, Oct 31 (APP):The Rawalpindi Police rounded up 20 law-breakers during a series of separate operations against narcotics peddlers, liquor suppliers, gamblers and proclaimed offenders across the district, recovering drugs, liquor, weapons and stake money.
According to a police spokesman on Friday, the Pirwadhai Police rounded up one suspect and seized 1.620 kilograms of charas, while the Westridge Police detained another individual and recovered 20 litres of liquor. The New Town Police held two suspects separately, recovering 10 litres of liquor from each of them.
Similarly, the Civil Lines Police arrested two individuals, seizing 10 litres of liquor, whereas the Cantt Police also took one suspect into custody with 10 litres of liquor. In another action, the Rawat Police nabbed one man and recovered five litres of liquor.
Meanwhile, four suspects were picked up from the jurisdictions of the Ratta Amral, Sadiqabad and Kahuta police stations for illegal weapons and ammunition.
In a crackdown on gambling, the Naseerabad Police arrested seven men allegedly found betting with playing cards. The police recovered stake money amounting to Rs 19,500, eight mobile phones and a set of playing cards from their possession.
Separately, the Banni Police apprehended a proclaimed offender wanted in a cheque dishonour case since 2024. The suspect was traced and arrested through human intelligence and other investigative techniques.
