SCCI for strengthening Pak-Uzbek mutual trade, economic ties

PESHAWAR, Nov 11 (APP):President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Junaid Altaf, stressed joint ventures, exchange of business delegations to strengthen mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Mr Shokhrukh Gulamov, Deputy Minister for Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the Business Opportunities Conference 2025 and the 36th RCCI International Achievement Awards ceremony held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
SCCI Vice President Sabir Ahmad Bangash, Chairman Uzbekistan Chamber, Commercial Counsellor Uzbekistan Embassy in Pakistan, Mr Alisher Dushchanov, business leaders, RCCI senior officers, members, officials and others were also present during the meeting.
SCCI chief, Junaid Altaf and Deputy Minister Mr Shokhurkh Gulamov discussed opportunities and avenues to bolster bilateral economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, especially enhancing collaboration with SCCI and Uzbekistan Chambers.
Vast opportunities for foreign investment in oil, gas, minerals, gems, jewelry, pharmaceuticals, honey, furniture and other potential sectors were available in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Altaf said.
SCCI chief invited companies of Uzbekistan to make investment in KP’s potential under joint ventures.
He stressed the exchange of business delegations, organizing single-country exhibitions to strengthen economic and trade relations between chambers of both countries.
Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan Shokhurkh Gulamov, while exchanging his views in the meeting, stated his country is keen to enhance trade and economic relations with Pakistan.
Mr Gulamov said today’s event was part of the efforts to boost the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Uzbekistan Deputy Minister agreed with the proposals of the president, Junaid Altaf and stated that they will take pragmatic steps to enhance collaboration with SCCI and Uzbekistan Chambers.
President Junaid Altaf and Vice President of the SCCI Sabir Ahmad Bangash are currently on a visit to Uzbekistan along with a business delegation to attend the three-day Business Opportunities Conference 2025 and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Achievement Awards ceremony held in Tashkent.
The SCCI chief actively participated in the Business to Business Meeting, addressed the conference and held meetings with business leaders of Uzbekistan and presented various proposals to enhance mutual economic and trade relations between chambers of both countries.
The meeting served as a significant platform to enhance bilateral trade relations, promote economic cooperation and explore new avenues of partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Both sides have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening commercial ties, facilitating joint ventures and expanding trade and investment opportunities under a spirit of mutual prosperity and regional connectivity.
