ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (APP):The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around to bullish trend on Friday, gaining 4,898.86 points, a positive change of 3.13 percent, closing at 161,631.73 points against 156,732.87 points on the last working day.
A total of 952.860 million shares were traded on the ready market compared to 848.303 million shares a day earlier, while the traded value increased to Rs 42.268 billion from Rs 37.611 billion previously. The market capitalization rose to Rs 18,561.637 trillion compared to Rs 18,086.220 trillion the previous day.
Out of 486 companies that transacted shares in the stock market, 372 recorded gains, 77 sustained losses, and 37 remained unchanged.
The three top-trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with 98.940 million shares at Rs 1.81 per share, followed by K-Electric Ltd. with 85.822 million shares at Rs 5.37 per share, and Bank of Punjab with 78.458 million shares at Rs 34.77 per share.
The top gainer was PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which increased by Rs 822.90 to close at Rs 24,789.57, followed by Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, up by Rs 316.30 to close at Rs 28,950.05.
The top loser was Shahmurad Sugar Mills Limited, which lost Rs 18.27 to close at Rs 426.77, followed by Faisal Spinning Mills Limited, down by Rs 13.10 to close at Rs 297.85.
In the futures market, a total of 901.290 million shares were traded compared to 561.036 million the previous day. SAZEW-OCTC emerged as the top gainer with an increase of Rs 49.61 to close at Rs 1,839.61, while CHCC-OCTB was the major loser, dropping by Rs 3.00 to close at Rs 331.00.
