PSX turns bearish, loses 5,405 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around to a strong bearish trend on Thursday, losing 5,405.48 points, a negative change of 3.41 percent, closing at 152,907.97 points compared to 158,313.45 points on the previous trading day, according to PSX data .

ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around to a strong bearish trend on Thursday, losing 5,405.48 points, a negative change of 3.41 percent, closing at 152,907.97 points compared to 158,313.45 points on the previous trading day, according to PSX data .

During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 521.631 million shares with a traded value of Rs 27.138 billion, against 612.361 million shares valuing Rs 34.597 billion in the previous session.
Market capitalization decreased to Rs 17.049 trillion from Rs 17.584 trillion a day earlier.

Out of 484 active companies in the ready market, 71 advanced, 356 declined, and 57 remained unchanged.
K-Electric Limited topped the volume chart with 96.740 million shares, followed by First National Equities with 33.024 million shares and Unity Foods Limited. with 25.118 million shares.

The top gainers included Nestle Pakistan Limited, which rose by Rs 48.00 to close at Rs 7,748.00, and The Thal Industries Corporation Limited, which gained Rs 41.99 to settle at Rs 669.96.

On the losing side, Service Industries Limited declined by Rs 75.16 to close at Rs 1,395.58, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs 70.79 to close at Rs 1,250.21.

In the futures market, turnover stood at 389.149 million shares with a traded value of Rs 21.232 billion, compared to 399.736 million shares worth Rs 21.824 billion in the previous session.
Out of 318 futures-market companies, 16 recorded gains, while 300 declined, according to PSX data.
