PSX stays bearish, loses 1,437 points

ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with bearish trend on Thursday, losing 1,437.05 points, a negative change of 0.92 percent, closing at 154,421.43 points against 155,858.48 points on the last trading day.
A total of 404,252,601 shares were traded during the day, as compared to 441,876,783 shares on the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 24.674 billion against Rs 24.984 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 471 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 157 of them recorded gains and 252 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 62 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were Hascol Petrol with 38,337,773 shares at Rs 17.46 per share, K-Electric Ltd. with 38,053,693 shares at Rs 7.59 per share and Dost Steels Ltd. with 25,149,001 shares at Rs 5.50 per share.
PIA Holding Company LimitedB witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 804.30 per share price, closing at Rs 17,024.50, whereas Ismail Industries Limited was the runner-up with a Rs 123.63 rise in its per share price to Rs 1,973.69.
Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs 255.00 to close at Rs 25,000.00, followed by Sazgar Engineering Works Limited with a decline of Rs 67.96 per share, closing at Rs 1,871.08.
In the futures market, 331 companies recorded trading, out of which shares of 83 companies increased, 246 companies declined whereas 2 companies remained unchanged.
