PSX maintains bullish momentum, gains 210 points

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP):The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its bullish trend on Wednesday, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 210.36 points, showing a positive change of 0.13 percent, closing at 165,686.38 points against 165,476.02 points of the previous trading day.
A total of 1,528,361,133 shares were traded during the day compared to 1,179,987,121 shares the previous day, while the total value of shares traded stood at Rs68.604 billion against Rs59.201 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 489 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, of which 249 recorded gains and 204 sustained losses, while the share prices of 36 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were K-Electric Limited with 383,103,314 shares at Rs7.65 per share, Bank of Punjab with 142,130,321 shares at Rs35.53 per share, and WorldCall Telecom with 116,447,451 shares at Rs1.74 per share.
Hoechst Pakistan Limited witnessed the maximum increase of Rs144.26 per share price, closing at Rs4,154.50, followed by Nestle Pakistan Limited with a Rs132.86 rise to close at Rs8,335.00 per share.
On the other hand, PIA Holding Company LimitedB recorded the maximum decrease of Rs89.33 per share, closing at Rs24,550.22, followed by Khyber Textile Mills Limited with Rs70.69 decline to close at Rs1,897.13 per share.

Meanwhile, in the futures market, 342 companies traded shares, out of which 167 recorded gains, 175 sustained losses.
