LAHORE, Feb 17 (APP):Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) here Tuesday celebrated the joyous occasion of Chinese New Year, welcoming the Year of the Horse with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy.
The event brought together a distinguished gathering of Chinese and Pakistani business leaders, community members, and stakeholders, reflecting the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain said that Year of the Horse symbolizes strength, determination, and success qualities that define the Pakistan China partnership. He emphasized that under the framework of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), both countries have achieved remarkable progress in infrastructure development, industrialization, and connectivity. He stated that CPEC continues to open new avenues for investment, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and joint ventures, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s economic growth and regional integration.
Zafar Iqbal, Vice President PCJCCI, shared that Chinese New Year is a celebration of culture, unity, and optimism. He added that CPEC has emerged as a cornerstone of bilateral cooperation, strengthening trade routes, enhancing industrial capacity, and creating employment opportunities. He highlighted that the business community is optimistic about the next phase of CPEC, which focuses on industrial cooperation, agriculture modernization, technology transfer, and sustainable development.
Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI added that such celebrations enhance cultural diplomacy and reinforce the foundation of trust and understanding that supports long-term business partnerships. He said that cultural harmony plays a vital role in supporting large-scale initiatives like CPEC, as strong people-to-people connections are essential for ensuring the success and sustainability of economic collaboration.
The event was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity, harmony, and the continued prosperity of Pakistan-China friendship. Participants exchanged warm wishes for a successful and prosperous Year of the Horse, expressing confidence in stronger collaboration and accelerated progress under CPEC in the year ahead.
