ISLAMABAD, Sep 02 (APP):Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain on Monday said that there was no plan under consideration to close the Utility Store Corporation (USC).
He said during a meeting with a delegation of USC which also attended by Managing Director USC and Secretary Industries and Production.
The minister said that work is underway on various options for the restructuring of the USC.
A new mechanism for subsidy is being devised to bring transparency in the corporation, he added.
Rana Tanveer said that the government will not take any unilateral decision to shut down the USC.
He assured that all decisions related to the USC will be made in close consultation with all relevant stakeholders including employees.
The interests of all government employees will be protected, he added.
