‘Most modern technologies being used to make tax regime simple’

FAISALABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Most modern technologies were being used to make the tax regime fully automatic, transparent and simple in the country, said Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Irshad Hussain.
Addressing a training session organized by the FBR in collaboration with Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), he said that digital technology was being utilized to bring a qualitative improvement in the overall tax system.
About the training session, he said that it would educate the FCCI members about the E-filing system so that they could generate their own invoices and make payments of sales tax and income tax online.
He said that payment of taxes would be fully digitalized and PRAL had developed efficient software to facilitate the business community in this respect.
He said that the system would also play a key role in making tax collection transparent and enhancing the tax net in the country.
The FBR was also trying its optimum best to dispel the apprehensions of the taxpayers about the e-filing system, he added.
Earlier, FCCI Senior Vice President Qaisar Shams Gucha welcomed the guests and said that it was very encouraging that the business community was taking keen interest in this system as it would enable them to make their payments of sales tax and income tax while sitting from their offices.
He expressed satisfaction over the close liaison between the FCCI and RTO, and said that our cooperation and collaboration would further grow in the coming days.
Later, officers from PRAL gave a detailed presentation on the E-filing system and said that with this latest electronic intervention, the business community could generate their invoices, file returns in addition to handling other technical issues more efficiently.
The participants of the session also asked different questions while Vice President Shahid Mumtaz Bajwa offered vote of thanks.
Later, SVP Qaisar Shams Gucha presented FCCI shield to Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Irshad Hussain.
