KE seeks Rs 4.859 per unit increase for April

ISLAMABAD, Jun 9 (APP):Karachi-Electric has sought an increase of Rs4.859 per unit in power tariff on account of monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for April 22.
Under the approved mechanism outlined in KE’s Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) approved by power regulator NEPRA, KE filed petition for an increase of Rs4.849 per unit to be passed on to consumers on account of fuel consumption in April.
NEPRA will conduct public hearing into the petition on June 14. In case NEPRA approves the KE’s petition it will have an impact of Rs9.353 billion on the company’s consumers. As per the KE major impact in monthly fuel cost adjustment is due to increase in the prices of furnace oil and RLNG.
Meanwhile, the KE also sought Rs4.521 per unit hike in power tariff under quarterly adjustment for period of January to March.
