DC reviews EV charging stations plan

FAISALABAD, Jan 14 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review establishment
of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations across the city for aligning Faisalabad with future
transportation needs.
Owners and representatives of various petroleum companies participated in the meeting, during which a comprehensive strategy was discussed to promote electric vehicle infrastructure in urban areas.
The deputy commissioner directed that EV Charging Stations should be installed along major roads and key arteries of the city to ensure easy access for commuters.
He said that provision of environmentally friendly transport facilities to the public was a top priority of district administration.
The installation of EV Charging Stations had been made mandatory for new petrol pumps while existing petrol pumps had also been directed to add charging facilities, he added.
He said that promotion of electric vehicles was imperative to reduce environmental pollution and improve air quality. The administration would facilitate all practical measures to encourage investment in EV infrastructure and support a cleaner, sustainable transport system for Faisalabad, he added.
