Custom Collectorate Faisalabad intercepted attempt to import prohibited pyrotechnic items into Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (APP): Collectorate of Customs (Appraisement), Faisalabad has successfully intercepted a significant attempt to import prohibited pyrotechnic items into Pakistan which were tactfully hidden and concealed inside the speaker boxes.
Acting on the directions of the Collector, a special team of the Collectorate led by the Additional Collector and the Deputy Collector, Multan Dry Port, conducted a detailed examination of two consignments, which was imported by Hareem Enterprises, said a press release.
During the examination, the team not only identified multiple undeclared items and mis-declared quantity but also detected pyrotechnic items hidden inside a video display trolley and Electric Fountain Fireworks concealed inside speaker boxes.
These items were prohibited and banned under the Import Policy Order, 2022. The importer attempted to evade Customs scrutiny through deliberate non-declaration, mis-declaration, and concealment.
Estimated customs value and taxes of mis-declared, un-declared and concealed goods in respect of the two GDs is Rs 13.024 million while duty and taxes evasion is estimated at Rs 8.99 million. FIRs have been registered against the culprits in both the cases.
