LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP):Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain here Friday chaired an important meeting to review progress on industrial infrastructure projects being carried out in industrial estates managed by the Faisalabad Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (FIEDMC).
The FIEDMC Chairman Rana Azhar Iqbal gave a detailed briefing on the implementation of various infrastructure projects.
Addressing the meeting, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that a world-class Community Center will be built on 17 acres in the M-3 Industrial Estate Faisalabad, where Chinese and other foreign investors will be provided top-quality residential facilities. He added that branches of various banks will also be opened in the industrial estates under FIEDMC to facilitate industrialists.
The minister directed that FIEDMC and NESPAK officials should jointly finalize all matters related to the Community Center and other infrastructure projects, and said that NESPAK must finalize the design of the Community Center within one week
He said that unprecedented measures have been taken during the past two years to improve infrastructure in the industrial estates managed by FIEDMC. The hospital established there has been handed over to the Social Security Department, and doctors and medical staff have already been appointed. He said that 211 factories are currently operational in FIEDMC’s industrial estates, while approximately 200 industrial units are under construction. According to government policy, plots of those who failed to establish industrial units within two years have been cancelled, and this policy will continue in the future as well. Ensuring 100 percent colonization of industrial estates is the government’s top priority, he added.
The Provincial Minister directed that development projects must be completed transparently, promptly, and with high quality, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on quality.
Chaudhry Shafay Hussain further stated that during his recent visit to China, he held fruitful meetings with representatives of more than 18 Chinese investor companies, many of which expressed interest in investing in Punjab. He added that new foreign investments in Punjab are creating employment opportunities.
During the briefing, it was also informed that the boundary wall of the Faisalabad Industrial Estate has been completed. FIEDMC CEO Mian Jamil Ahmad, GM Engineering Col. Adil, and officials from NESPAK attended the meeting.
