QUETTA, Mar 31 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has underscored the critical need for strategic financial planning to ensure the long-term development and sustainability of public sector universities across the province.
Jaffar Mandokhail expressed these views during a meeting at the Governor House with Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, where both leaders discussed financial challenges and reform measures in the higher education sector.
Governor emphasized that transparent financial management and effective resource utilization are essential to strengthen universities.
He said that improved financial governance will enable institutions to explore new revenue streams, including research grants and partnerships.
Jaffar Mandokhail added that ongoing reforms aim to enhance governance, transparency, and financial discipline, ultimately raising academic standards.
He urged coordinated efforts among stakeholders are vital to foster a conducive academic environment.
Shoaib Nosherwani noted that progress has already been made in addressing salary-related challenges through the University Finance Commission.
He added that efforts are being accelerated to resolve pension liabilities and operational expenses, which remain key concerns.
