New army leadership to continue traditions set by Gen Raheel: Asif


ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (APP): Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif Saturday said the newly appointed army leadership would continue the rich tradition of successes established by outgoing Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
Referring to the appointment of new Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Army Staff, he said the war against terrorism would continue as the situation today was much better than three years back. The armed forces were fighting bravely against terrorists.
The operation Zarb e Azb would continue till the complete elimination of terrorism from the country, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said civil and armed forces had given unforgettable sacrifices in war against terrorism.
Replying to a question, he said the country had been facing number of challenges including confrontation on eastern border, war against terror, restoration of peace in big cities especially in Karachi but the government would trying to overcome the same.
