China to further tap Halal Food, Muslim commodities markets abroad |

BEIJING, Mar 26 (APP): China
will expand and continue to tap the Muslim and Arab world markets for
introduction and exports of Halal Food and Muslim Commodities. “Right now, the number of
Muslims in the world is around 1.5 billion. Data shows that the world‑wide
Halal Food transaction amount every year is 150 US dollars”, said Governor
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Wang Zhengwei while addressing a press conference
here at the Great Hall of the People on Thursday.
He pointed out that this
indicates that Halal food industry has huge development potentiality.
Giving details of the
International Investment and Trade Fair, an annual feature held at the Yichuan,
the capital city of Muslim dominated Ningxia, the provincial Governor Wang said
that the upcoming exhibition will be held from August 18‑23.
He expected that over 68 envoys
from different countries and regions, while large number of representatives,
traders and businessmen from around the world will attend the fair.
The holding of 2nd
China (Ningxia) Hui Merchants Convention, China (Ningxia) International Cashmere
Products Shows, Ningxia‑Arab Business, Trade cooperation Seminar and
International Forum on Halal Industry Cooperation and Development are the other
trade activities to be organized during the trade fair.
He said that the Forum will be
jointly held by the state Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Commerce
and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
By following the main gist of
cooperation between Ningxia and the Arab world, and with scholars’ delivering
speeches as well as holding Halal products exhibition, the Governor said that
the Forum will create a good opportunity for pushing up of the industrial
development and creating an ideal platform for Ningxia’s economic contacts and
exchange with the outside world.
