Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir observed in SW

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN, Aug 05 (APP): Like other parts of the country, the Youm-e-Istehsal was observed in South Waziristan where walk and ceremony were organized to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people and to condemn Indian government actions of August 5, 2019.
A ceremony and walk was organized in the Deputy Commissioner Compound, Tank under the leadership of Additional Assistant Commissioner Sarwakai which was attended by Tribal leaders, officers and representatives of various departments and citizens in large numbers.
The participants of the rally strongly condemned the forced integration of Kashmir. They said that the people of Pakistan would continue to support their Kashmiri brethren in their independence struggle at every forum.
The walk was started from DC-Gate and culminated at Bettani-Gate. A special prayer was also offered for Kashmiri people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Another event was organized at Govt High School Wana wherein Assistant Commissioner Wana, South Waziristan Lower Faisal Ismail participated as chief guest.
At the event, the school children presented speeches and tableaus in connection with Kashmir Exploitation Day.
Speaking on the occasion, the assistant commissioner strongly condemned the atrocities committed by the Indian armed forces on Kashmiri people in IIOJK.
“We will always support Kashmiri people at every forum in their independence struggle.
At the end of ceremony, the assistant commissioner also distributed prizes among the children.

Bilateral political consultation agreement: Ethiopia, Pakistan to foster cooperation for addressing global challenges

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Ethiopia and Pakistan have discussed signing of a bilateral political consultation agreement by end of this year to foster deeper cooperation at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels for addressing global challenges.

The signing of the agreement came under discussion during a meeting between Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia, Jemal Beker Abdula and Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s Additional Secretary (Africa) Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan on Monday.

Both sides agreed to sign the agreement at the earliest possible time which will help create an institutional mechanism for both the countries to work together at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels for dealing with global issues such as climate change, terrorism, cybercrimes, fake news and others.

Ambassador Jemal Beker briefed the additional secretary about the earnest desire of the government of Ethiopia for signing the bilateral political consultation agreement with Pakistan to further strengthen the bilateral relations.

He highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries in the realms of politics, economy, trade and culture through consistent and constructive engagement between the governments, business community, academia and professionals of the two countries with the delegations’ exchange in the last two years.

The ambassador also briefed the additional secretary about Home Grown Economic Reform Programme 1.0 (HGERP) which has doubled size of its Gross Domestic Product, making it top economy in the East Africa and 3rd economy in the Sub Saharan Africa under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali.

He said the government of Ethiopia has now launched the HGERP 2.0 creating a stable macroeconomic environment, transforming investment and trade environment, boosting productive growth and improving public sector capability.

The ambassador informed about Ethiopia’s initiatives for regional integration such as Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Green Legacy Initiative, Dine for Generation and others.

He said South Sudan has signed the Nile Basin Cooperative Framework Agreement which would ensure equitable and reasonable utilization of the Nile water and further integrate the region.

He said Ethiopia has been forefront to ensure peace and security in the region by bringing the warring parties on the table for talks to end the conflicts in the region.

On the other hand, the additional secretary reiterated the government of Pakistan’s commitment to further deepen the bilateral ties by enhancing bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation.

He informed that the government of Pakistan has ratified the bilateral political consultative agreement which was crucial to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir observed in Tank

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Aug 05 (APP):The district administration Tank on Monday organized an event and walk at Deputy Commissioner Office in connection with ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ Kashmir and to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.
Deputy Commissioner Tank Tanvir Khan led the walk held at his office which was also participated by officers and representatives of different departments, civil society members, media persons and people from different walks of life in large numbers.
In his message, the DC said, the purpose of ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ is to draw the attention of international community to the struggle of Kashmiris for their freedom and the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Moreover, he said that organizing these events was aimed to request the United Nations to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue according to its resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He said the Indian forces were continuously committing human rights violations in the IIOJK.
At the end, the participants of walk also offered prayers for independence of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, another walk was also held at Govt Degree College Tank to mark Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir which was participated by College Principal, Lecturers and students in large numbers.
The speakers, while addressing the event, said that organizing this event was aimed to express solidarity with oppressed Kashmiri people.
They said that India had committed unprecedented barbarism and tyranny against innocent Kashmiris for raising voices for their fundamental right to self- determination.
In this regard, the people of Tank under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Tank Shaukat Iqbal and Traffic Incharge Saad Uddin stopped their vehicles at Kashmir Chowk and observed one-minute silence to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.
On this occasion, the people also chanted slogans in favour of Independence of Kashmir and against the atrocities being committed by Indian forces in IIOJK.

Punjab police continue crackdown on drug pushers

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP):Following the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Drug-Free Punjab Vision, a rigorous crackdown by police teams is underway across the province. Targeted operations have been intensified daily in all districts, including Lahore, to combat the menace of drugs.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that in a single day, 259 raids were conducted on drug dealers’ hideouts across the province. A total of 125 suspects were arrested, and 124 cases were registered. Over 54 kilograms of charas, 1 kilogram heroin, and 1,349 liters of alcohol were seized.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the special campaign that began on February 26, police teams conducted over 41,000 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts across Punjab. A total of 19,068 cases were registered, and 19,596 suspects were arrested.
Over 11,610 kilograms of charas, 63 kilograms of ice, 216 kilograms of heroin, 294 kilograms of opium, and over 1.7 million liters of alcohol were seized. Dr. Anwar directed RPOs and DPOs to intensify intelligence-based operations against drug dealers and smugglers.
He emphasized the need for accelerated actions against habitual criminals, hot spots, and online drug trafficking. The IG Punjab also instructed that search and combing operations in and around educational institutions be maintained regularly.

Blood of Kashmiris will not go in vain: Azma Bokhari

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP):Punjab Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari has stated that the blood of Kashmiris will not be in vain and that the struggle for the freedom of occupied Kashmir will continue.
In a speech as the chief guest at a ceremony held at Alhamra Arts Council Lahore, she said, “Since August 5, occupied Kashmir has resembled an open prison. On this day, India attempted to seize occupied Kashmir by distorting its constitutional status. We have neither forgotten nor will we ever forget the blood of martyrs in occupied Kashmir. Even today, the internet is shut down in occupied Kashmir, and India maintains control over everything.”
Minister Bokhari, while condemning India’s actions in occupied Kashmir on August 5, said, “We must also reaffirm our commitment to stand with the oppressed Kashmiri sisters, elders, and children.” She highlighted the importance of understanding what freedom means from the perspectives of the people of occupied Kashmir and Gaza. The desire for a free and independent country is palpable in these regions. In Palestine, the entire family of Ismail Haniyeh has been wiped out. The face of Burhanuddin Wani, martyred in occupied Kashmir, remains etched in the minds of all Pakistanis.”
The Information Minister stressed that, aside from political differences, it is crucial to identify those involved in conspiracies to weaken our economy and political institutions under the guise of politics. She said that the leaders of her party are Kashmiris and have consistently fought the case for Kashmir admirably. “Our struggle will persist until Kashmir becomes a part of Pakistan,” she added.
She also viewed artworks created by young artists and appreciated their talent.

UAF observes Yaum-e-Istihsal-e-Kashmir

FAISALABAD, Aug 05 (APP):University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) observed Yaum-e-Istihsal-e-Kashmir by arranging a rally here on Monday to express solidarity with oppressed Kashmiri people.
Vice Chancellor UAF Prof Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan led the rally in which a number of university students and faculty members participated. Holding banners and placard, they raised slogans against Indian atrocities inflicted upon innocent Kashmiris in the occupied valley.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Iqrar Ahmad said that Indian forces had committed unprecedented barbarism and tyranny on innocent Kashmiris because they were raising voice for their fundamental right of self-determination.
He said that the Pakistani nation was observing Yaum-e-Istihsal-e-Kashmir today to give a message to Indian government as well to the international community that Pakistanis would continue their moral, political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people until they get their fundamental right.
He said that innocent Kashmiris laid down their lives for their freedom and their blood would surely bring a revolution and India would have to pay for its atrocities very soon.
He also condemned the siege of Kashmir and demanded international leaders to intervene in the Kashmir issue and get it resolved as early as possible because resolution of this issue was imperative for peace in the region.

Pakistan embassies worldwide unite for Youm-e-Istehsal, denounce Indian repression

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): Pakistan embassies worldwide on Monday commemorated Youm-e-Istehsal to show solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), condemning Indian atrocities and reiterating Pakistan’s steadfast diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s just struggle for self-determination.
The embassies organized seminars and webinars to condemn India’s illegal actions on August 5, 2019, and subsequent efforts to undermine Jammu and Kashmir’s disputed status and alter its demographic composition, in violation of UN Security Council resolutions, international law, and the 4th Geneva Convention.
Pakistan Ambassador to France, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad in a webinar strongly condemned India’s illegal actions of August 5, 2019. Similarly, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg Amna Baloch in a seminar called upon the international community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations to end the ongoing human rights abuses in IIOJK.
Youm-e-Istehsal was observed across Australia, with multiple events organized in major cities, including Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Car rallies featuring pictures that expressed support for Kashmiris and their quest for justice and self-determination also gained a lot of public attention.
In a webinar titled “Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir: 77 Years of Occupation and Oppression,” High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri noted Australia’s historic role in the IIOJK dispute, including its involvement in UNMOGIP and Sir Owen Dixon’s role as the first UN mediator between India and Pakistan.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Melbourne marked Youm-e-Istehsal with an event, condemning India’s unilateral actions in IIOJK and reiterating the need to grant Jammu and Kashmir’s people their right to self-determination per UN Security Council resolutions.
The Embassy of Pakistan in The Hague organized a seminar where Ambassador Sulijuk Mustansar Tarar highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to spotlight the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
Speakers at the seminar called IIOJK human rights violations a major global concern, urging action for a UN-based resolution. Notable speakers included Ejaz Hussain Saifi, Raja Zaib Khan, and Raja Muhammad Farooq. The event, featuring a pictorial exhibition, was attended by NGOs, academics, students, and community members.
The Pakistan High Commission in Colombo, along with friends of Pakistan, the diplomatic community, and the Pakistani Diaspora, jointly observed Kashmir Youm-e-Istehsal.
In his closing remarks, High Commissioner Major General (Retd) Faheem Ul Aziz highlighted Kashmir’s ongoing oppression, including military sieges, communication blockades, and extrajudicial killings.
He stressed that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute per UN Security Council resolutions and Kashmiri aspirations.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Seoul hosted the Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir commemoration, marking the exploitation of IIOJK.
The event condemned the occupiers’ illegal actions and reaffirmed support for Jammu and Kashmir’s self-determination struggle.

Embassy of Pakistan in Berlin, also organised a seminar. Ambassador Saqlain Syedah pledged moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris.
Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir was observed at the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul. Ambassador Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani recalled the significant sacrifices made by the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their 77-year struggle against illegal and brutal Indian occupation.
He paid tribute to Kashmiri leaders, notably Shaheed Syed Ali Geelani, and urged the international community to prevent India from normalizing its occupation of Kashmir. India’s actions in Jammu and Kashmir, violating international law and UNSC resolutions, were condemned. Ambassador Nizamani reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Kashmiris politically, morally, and diplomatically.
A solemn ceremony to commemorate #YoumeIstehsal was held at the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow.
The 5th anniversary of Youm-e-Istehsal was commemorated at the Pakistan Embassy in Belarus. Deputy Head of Mission Momin Qureshi highlighted escalating violations and hardships faced by Kashmiris, calling for urgent international intervention. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and Kashmiri aspirations.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi also commemorated Youm-e-Istehsal-Kashmir, marking the 5th anniversary of India’s August 5, 2019 actions against IIOJK’s disputed status.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi condemned India’s violations of international law, called for international intervention, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Kashmiri self-determination. A documentary on Indian atrocities was also shown.
Pakistan Embassy in Turkiye marked the 5th Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, highlighting India’s 2019 actions to reinforce its illegal occupation. Attendees included MPs Ali Sahin and Burhan Kayaturk, Kashmiri leader Abdur Rasheed Turabi, Dr. Guray Alpar, and various media and civil society representatives.
The Pakistan Embassy in Jakarta marked the 5th Youm-e-Istehsal with a seminar titled “Genesis of Kashmir Conflict-Past, Present, Future.” Amb Ameer Khurram Rathore noted the day commemorates India’s August 5, 2019 actions, highlighted severe human rights violations in IIOJK, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Kashmiri freedom.
Messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar highlighted the suffering of Kashmiris and Pakistan’s commitment to supporting their cause according to UN Security Council resolutions. Documentaries on India’s illegal actions in IIOJK were also screened.

Senate passes resolution against martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The Senate of Pakistan on Monday unanimously passed a resolution against martyrdom of Ismal Haniyeh, condemning the brutal war crimes of Israel against innocent Palestinians.

The mover of the resolution Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the leader of the Muslim world who raised this issue at international level and untied the entire Muslim Ummah.
She said that the world witnessed that all those Muslim leaders were killed one by another for raising their voice against the war crimes of Isreal.

She also condemned the silence of neighboring Muslim countries of Palestine and said that two countries; India and Isreal were creating havoc in the world but no one was there to stop them. She said Isreal is using Indian made ammunition against innocent Palestinians and both countries are supporting each other in their crimes against humanities.
She said the world has witnessed that Pakistan’s enemy Hasina Wajid ran away from Bangladesh and the day will come when Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu will also be on the run soon.

Senator Sherry Rehman speaking in favor of the resolution, said that India and Isreal were the two biggest terrorist countries in the world enjoying impunity and killing innocents in Palestine and Kashmir. She said that both countries were committing genocide and violating the international order by bombing humanitarian aid.
She said that the response of the world would have been different if such atrocities were committed against any western country.
Senator Sherry Rehman said that both India and Isreal were working on settlers’ colonialism project in Muslim countries.

The resolution passed by the Senate said, “This House expresses profound grief and sorrow on the martyrdom of eminent Hammas leader Ismail Haniyeh in an attack by Israeli Zionists in Tehran on 31st July, 2024. The House condemns human rights violations and unprovoked bombing of Israel in Beirut and the recent killing of 250 innocent civilians in Palestine in addition to thousands of others. Realizing that Israel is morphing into an international criminal and terrorist entity that is attacking Muslim Nations with impunity; the Senate of Pakistan strongly recommends that all countries, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and particularly Muslim countries to counter and restrain Israeli from its terrorist agenda and ensure lifting of siege of Gaza to provide immediate assistance to the starving and injured civilians and halting of bombing at Gaza on immediate basis.”

FAC holds rally, exhibition on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir

FAISALABAD, Aug 05 (APP):Faisalabad Arts Council (FAC) has observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir by organizing a rally and a painting exhibition, here on Monday.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Faisal Ahmad led the rally which started from the Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad Division office and a large number of people participated in it in addition to Deputy Director FAC Muhammad Imran Raza, District Officer Population Welfare Department Tayyabah Azam Khan, Assistant Director Program Asad Hayat, District Demographic Officer Mehwish Badar and Deputy District Officer Dr Aaliya Aqib.
The participants of the rally were holding banners and placards inscribed with the slogans against Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir Valley.
They marched on various roads and chanted slogans in favor of Kahsmiri people.
Earlier, AC City also inaugurated a painting exhibition in Faisalabad Arts Council gallery where a large number of photos and pictures were displayed to highlight barbarism of Indian forces on innocent Kashmiri people.

Governor Punjab calls on PM

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Monday called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, different matters pertaining to Punjab province, besides overall situation in the country, including political, were discussed, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
