RWMC celebrates Independence Day with a flag-hoisting, cake-cutting ceremony

RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP):A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Rawalpindi Waste Management Company(RWMC) headquarters to mark the 78th Independence Day here on Wednesday.
Addressing on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer RWMC Rana Sajid Safdar said that the company was committed to providing a clean environment to the citizens on this Independence Day like every important national event.
He said that RWMC was carrying out cleanliness activities regularly across the district despite holidays, epidemics, rains and others.
Rana informed that RWMC had devised a comprehensive plan on the eve of Independence Day besides deploying additional staff.
Under the special cleanliness program, the area around the educational institutions and celebration event places were cleaned, and the waste containers were also emptied.
The construction material or debris was also removed while white powder lining was also ensured on city roads on Independence Day.
He urged the residents to cooperate with the RWMC staff and not throw waste and other materials in drains and the open.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, a cake was also cut on the occasion.

Independence Day celebrated at Rescue 1122 Headquarters

RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP):District Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 organized a stunning event to mark 78th Independence Day, here at its District Headquarters on Wednesday.
During the ceremony, the national flag was hoisted and the national anthem was played.
According to the details, District Emergency Officer (DEO), Engr. Sibghatullah was the chief guest at the independence day celebration. A smartly turned around contingent of Rescue 1122 personnel presented salute to the national flag.
The wreath was laid on Shuhda memorial. On the auspicious occasion an Independence Day Cake was also cut. Special prayers for the safety and exaltation of the beloved country were said.
Later, the Engr. Sibghatullah planted saplings as part of the plantation drive. He extended Independence Day greetings to all citizens on behalf of Emergency Rescue Service Rawalpindi.
The spokesman/ media coordination Rescue 1122, Muhammad Usman informed APP that special rescue posts have been established at the parks and important places of the city.
“The purpose of establishing a special rescue post is to provide a sense of security to the people”, he said adding that risk of emergencies increases with increased strength of people’s gatherings on special occasions.
He appealed to the parents to strictly prohibit their children from one-wheeling on motorcycles which could be fatal. Usman further urged the citizens to remain in contact with help line 1122 in any emergency.

University of Sargodha Marks 78th Independence Day

SARGODHA, Aug 14 (APP):On the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at University of Sargodha Main Campus outside the Vice Chancellor’s office.
Pro Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Professor Dr. Mian Gulam Yasin hoisted the national flag.
In the ceremony, teachers, employees, students and a large number of children participated enthusiastically.
Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin paid rich tribute to those who sacrificed everything for the establishment of Pakistan and said that the establishment of Pakistan was not possible without their efforts and sacrifices.
He further said that the guiding principles of faith, unity, and discipline given by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah needed to be followed for the development of Pakistan.
Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin said that the teachers, employees, and students should play an active role in the development of the country. Today was the day of renewal of the pledge for every Pakistani to play his full role in the development of Pakistan, he concluded.
Furthermore, in connection with Independence Day, Independence Day walk, tree plantation activity to control environmental changes, cake cutting ceremony and speech competition was also conducted.

DAKAR, Aug 14 (APP): To commemorate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, the Embassy of Pakistan in Senegal hosted a spectacular light show, illuminating Senegal’s iconic monument with the vibrant colors of the Pakistani flag.

The ceremony was attended by the Pakistani diaspora in Senegal, and Senegalese dignitaries from the ministries, think tanks, media and private sector.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Senegal Saima Sayed, in her remarks, paid tribute to Quaid- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the founding fathers of Pakistan.

She mentioned that August 14 was not only a commemoration of the independence movement of 1947, it was also a symbol of the resilience and courage of the Pakistani nation.

Administrator General of the African Renaissance Monument Birame Mbarou Diouf, in his remarks, expressed the desire to continue such collaborations with Pakistan in the realm of culture and heritage.

This followed the launch of the light show by Ambassador Sayed and Administrator General Diouf which lit up the 198 stairs and the Monument – the tallest African statue – with images of the Pakistani flag and pictures of the Minar e Pakistan.

With Pakistani national songs in the background and the colours of Pakistan being reflected on the grand African Renaissance Monument, the Pakistani diaspora of Senegal celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day with their Senegalese friends.

The African Renaissance Monument is 52 meters high, sits atop a 300-foot-high hill and creates a towering image that is visible from most parts of the city.

The Monument is known to represent a memorial for the past, a celebration of the present, and a beacon for the future, symbolizing the “triumph of African liberation from several centuries of racism and imprisonment.

Pakistan and Senegal enjoy close brotherly relations since 1960. Both countries are working together to enhance engagement in diverse fields like, trade, agriculture, education, tourism and this event was a reflection of the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Senegal.

PM expresses gratitude to his UAE counterpart for extending greetings on Pakistan’s Independence Day

ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday thanked his UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his warm greetings on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

“I thank Your Highness and the entire leadership of UAE for always standing with Pakistan in our journey towards peace, progress and prosperity. I am confident that by working together, we can build a bright future for our peoples. Long live Pakistan-UAE brotherhood,” the prime minister wrote on his official X account in response to the felicitation message by Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The UAE prime minister extending his felicitation to the leadership and people of Pakistan on the occasion of its Independence Day, reiterated his country’s steadfast commitment to strengthening bilateral collaboration, exploring new opportunities for growth, and working together to build a future of prosperity and success.

Yaum-e-Azadi celebrated in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD, Aug 14 (APP):The 78th Yaum-e-Azadi (Independence Day) was celebrated with full national zeal and zest in Faisalabad with a commitment that all-out efforts would be made for steering the country out of problems and no stone would left unturned for the protection, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The main flag hoisting ceremony was held at Commissioner Complex where Divisional Commissioner Madam Silwat Saeed, Deputy Commissioner (DC) ,Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh, Regional Police Officer (RPO), Dr Muhammad Abid, City Police Officer (CPO) Kamran Adil, former parliamentarian Hajji Akram Ansar,officers and staff of different government departments and large number of citizens belonging to various walks of life participated.
Divisional Commissioner Madam Silwat Saeed unfurled the national flag and recited the national anthem along with participants of the function.
Active contingents of police, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense presented salute and March past. The students presented Milli Naghmas (national songs) and special prayers were offered for the development and prosperity of the country.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that 14th August was a day of commitment for renewing the pledge that we are a strong nation and have the capability to meet any challenges.
He urged the people to play their due role for the development of country and to promote national solidarity and love.
Other speakers congratulated the nation on 77th Independence Day of Pakistan and said that we should continue to contribute in making Pakistan strong and prosper in order to raise its honor in the globe.
Later, the DC also distributed saplings to plant and grow maximum tree for greater national interest.
In the end, sweets were also distributed among the participants and balloons were flown in the air.
Earlier, the day was dawn with special prayers in the main mosques after Fajar prayers for the prosperity of the nation and solidarity of the Pakistan.
Quran Khawani was held for the departed souls of the martyrs of Pakistan movement.
Various social, political, trade and religious organizations also arranged a number of events to highlight the importance of Independence.
The markets and streets were decorated with the buntings and national flags. Banners and steamers were also displayed at the important roads and intersections pertaining to the slogans on patriotism.
The police and district administration made stringent security arrangements.
Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad Division also arranged a number of functions to celebrate the 77th Independence Day.
DC Silwat Saeed photography and craft exhibitions at Faisalabad Arts Council in addition to cut the cake and plant the tree to celebrate the Jashan-e-Azadi.
Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Faisalabad, Faisalabad Press Club (FPC), Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCUWF), University of Faisalabad (UAF), The University of Faisalabad (TUF) and other educational institutes also arranged Yaum-e-Azadi functions where the speakers delivered enthusiastic speeches, urging the people to play their pro-active role for national progress and prosperity.
Similar functions were also organized at Tehsil level where Assistant Commissioners presided over the events in addition to address the participants and cut the Independence Day cakes.

Rescue 1122 arranges events to celebrate Independence Day

LOWER DIR, Aug 14 (APP): Emergency Rescue Service 1122 on Wednesday arranged various events to mark the Independence Day.
Various events were held in District Office of Rescue 1122 Balambat. A flag hoisting ceremony was held and a smart contingent of Rescue 1122 presented salute.
Flag march was also organized that was participated in by rescue workers, personnel of police and locals.
District Emergency Officer, Sanaullah said that flag march was held to recall the matchless struggle of Muslim leaders for creation of separate homeland and to further promote and strengthen the bond of mutual love among people.

Change of guard ceremony held at Mazar-e-Quaid

KARACHI, Aug 14 (APP):An inspiring Change of Guard ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the Independence Day of the country where the smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Naval Academy cadets assumed guard duties with enthusiasm, traditional spirit and military customs.
Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Muhammad Khalid graced the occasion as chief guest and reviewed the guard. The chief guest and cadets of Pakistan Navy presented Qaumi Salam to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Lieutenant Commander Ahmed Hasan performed the duties of Parade Commander.

DC plants trees under Plant for Pakistan initiative

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 14 (APP):Under the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, saplings have been planted in Bahawalpur district as part of the Plant for Pakistan campaign.
Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zaheer Anwar Jappa has planted evergreen and shade-providing trees at the forest department’s reserves. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur City Dr. Sana Ramchand, Assistant Commissioner Bahawalpur Saddar Ahmed Sher Gondal, Conservator of Forests Khalid Javed Bhatta, DFO Extension Shahid Hamid, along with officers and staff from the forest department, Rescue 1122, and representatives from civil society also participated in the planting.
“The trees will be planted under the Plant for Pakistan program, and geo-tagging of the plants will be carried out,” stated Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa. “Trees make the environment pleasant and refreshing,” he added.
“Alongside planting, proper care and irrigation of the plants should be ensured,” emphasized Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa.
The Conservator of Forests Khalid Javed Bhatta mentioned that large-scale afforestation is underway under the Plant for Pakistan program.

Independence day celebrated at Basant Hall

HYDERABAD, Aug 14 (APP):A program was held at Basant Hall in collaboration with the Cultural Center Basant Hall and Sindh Indigenous and Traditional Crafts Company (SITCO) on August 14 to celebrate Independence Day.
Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Bilal Ahmed Memon graced the ceremony as a special guest and hoisted the Pakistani flag to mark the inauguration  of the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Hyderabad Bilal Ahmed Memon said that he felt positive vibes coming here and always learns something new in such program.
During his visit to the children’s library established at Basant Hall, he said that the library has been designed very well for learners.
Appreciating the artwork of young artists in the exhibition “Art of the Joke” held at Basant Hall, he said that the art exhibition has critically analyzed the positive aspects of society through art, which is a sign of the healthy minds of young people.
He said that we all need to work together for the development of this country.
The SWA displayed an art exhibition in the program and handicraft stalls were also set up by SITCO, the Commissioner Hyderabad visited the exhibition and stalls and lauded the art work.
