Balochistan’s LG Minister Sarfraz Domki passes away

KARACHI, Sep 16 (APP):The Local Government Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Chskar Domki passed away here in a private hospital on Monday.
According to family sources, Domki had been under treatment for lung and kidney disorders at a private hospital in Karachi for the past 10 days.
Sarfaraz Chakar Domki will be laid to rest in his native town of Lahri, family sources confirmed.
He was a seasoned politician and a respected tribal figure, having been elected to the Balochistan Assembly from PB-8 Sabi on a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) ticket.

Senate passes resolution demanding Sept 7 as Finality of Prophethood Day

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP): The Upper House of the Parliament on Monday unanimously passed the resolution demanding the government to declare official celebration of the of Finality of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Day on September 7th as a national holiday in connection with the day of declaration of Qadianis as non-Muslims.
The 12th meeting of the 342nd Senate Session started almost 11 minutes late with the recitation of the Holy Quran under Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar in chair.
Senator Atta-ur-Rehman of Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) moved the resolution stating: “Commemorating the historical day of September 7, 1974; the day when the Parliament of Pakistan unanimously declared Qadianis as a non-Muslims minority; Noting that indeed that day was historical not just for Pakistan but for the entire Muslim world as the long sustained struggle of the Muslims ultimately became successful; Realizing that it is imperative to highlight and remember the historical moments, the Senate of Pakistan, therefore, recommends to the Government that the day may be celebrated officially and be declared as a national holiday.”
Speaking on the motion, he said the Day was historic as the Parliament put a bulwark against the invaders on the sanctity of the Finality of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The occasion demanded the government to create awareness among the young generation, by declaring it a national holiday, on the matter of critical religious importance, he added.
Maulana Atta underlined that the Parliament session continued for 13 consecutive days to declare these rebel Qadianis as non-Muslims. “The government should announce medals for those Parliamentarians who played crucial role in ensuring protection of the Finality of Prophethood (Peace Be Upon Him) to remember their meritorious contributions for Islam,” the JUI-F Senator said.
The Senate session was prorogued without taking up the remaining agenda of two amendment bills.

AJK gears up to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with fervor

MIRPUR-AJK, Sep 16 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is all set to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), the birthday of the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with utmost religious enthusiasm and devotion on September 17.
According to APP, like the rest of the Islamic world, the liberated part of the Himalayan state of Jammu and Kashmir – Azad Jammu and Kashmir has completed all the necessary arrangements to mark this one of the most sacred days in Islamic history.
Milad processions and ‘Mahafil-e-Milad’ (Milad gatherings) will be held in all major and minor towns and cities across AJK.
The main celebrations will take place in the capital city of Muzaffarabad, as well as in all 10 AJK districts, including Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Rawalakot, Palandri, Bhimber, Neelam Valley, Haveeli and Jhelum Valley.
Islamic scholars and seasoned Ulema (religious scholars) from all schools of thought in the Muslim community will pay glorious tributes to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for his remarkable services and the message of Allah Almighty that he conveyed to humanity, particularly to the Muslim Ummah.
The streets and roads including markets and shopping centers have been beautifully decorated with lights and colorful banners depicting the celebrations of the Prophet’s birthday.
Gates have been erected on all major roads and streets in towns and cities across AJK.
At night, all private and public buildings will be illuminated with colored lights to express the joy and reverence for this most sacred day in Islamic history.

Effective measures contained dengue spread; 130 cases reported so far: Health secretary

PESHAWAR, Sep 16 (APP):Secretary Health KP Adeel Shah has said that effective measures and coordinated efforts kept the dengue spread limited this year as only 130 cases have been reported so far.
In an official statement issued here, the Secretary said that out of a total of 130 dengue cases, only 11 remained active, while 119 patients were fully recovered.
He noted that the recent increase in dengue cases in certain districts was due to the rains, which were influenced by climatic changes, adding that the health department had been directed to adopt an active and systematic approach at all levels to prevent the spread of dengue.
He assured that all available resources were being utilised in collaboration with line departments to control the outbreak. All relevant officials including District Health Officers (DHOs) have been instructed to intensify efforts in surveillance, larval elimination, and dengue control measures.
The Secretary said that the health department had instructed daily monitoring of the situation, weekly review meetings, and specific actions to limit the spread of dengue in the affected districts while DHOs had been tasked with daily case detection, determining the spread of the virus, and taking timely preventive measures.
He said that practical steps including mosquito-spraying campaigns would be carried out in the hotspot union councils of the affected districts to minimise mosquito bites.

Gilani expresses deep sorrow over passing of Sarfaraz Domki

Gilani said that with the passing of Sardar Sarfaraz Domki, Balochistan has lost a wise and exemplary politician, leaving a significant void in the region’s political landscape.
He prayed for the departed soul’s elevation and strength for the grieving family.

All set to celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) on Tuesday

RAWALPINDI, Sep 16 (APP):All the arrangements are being finalized to celebrate the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal on Tuesday (Sept 17), to mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with religious fervor and enthusiasm.
Rawalpindi city has been decorated beautifully and the preparations are in full swing to celebrate the birth of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a befitting manner.
The roads, streets and buildings in Rawalpindi district have been decorated by the faithful with colourful lights and buntings.
A number of programmes are being chalked out to celebrate the birth of Holy Prophet (PBUH) with great reverence and devotion. Different Naat committees in the city are organizing Naat competitions to celebrate 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Like every year, the government and religious organizations have planned a number of activities to celebrate the annual event.
As a tradition, Milad-un-Nabi processions would be held in all areas of Rawalpindi district.
Strict Security arrangements are also being finalized to ensure security of the processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
Punjab Government had directed all District and Tehsil administration officers to take strict security measures in this regard.
In this connection the main procession of Milad-un-Nabi would start in the morning from Bunni Chowk and after passing from Circular road, Waris Khan, Murree Road, Committee Chowk, Iqbal Road, Fowara Chowk, Raja Bazaar, would end at central Jamia Mosque Rawalpindi.
The district administration has set up a control room for the surveillance of the processions and reviewing security arrangement.
The entry of tractor trolley, trucks and other heavy vehicles would be prohibited at the route of the main procession.
The Ulema and people belonging to different sects have been taken on board and urged to play their role in maintaining law and order and foil nefarious designs of the miscreants.
Provincial Health Minister, Khawaja Salman Rafique chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order here the other day said that foolproof security arrangements have been finalized for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
The Chairman Cabinet Committee and Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq on the occasion said that the Punjab government had made arrangements to provide drinks and sweets to the people on Eid Milad un Nabi across Punjab.
Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH), the birth of the Holy Prophet would be celebrated with full devotion, Khwaja Salman Rafiq said.
No new innovation would be allowed for peaceful celebration of Eid Milad, he added.
All the arrangements were being completed in consultation with peace committees across the province, he said and informed, best possible security arrangements were finalized for Milad celebrations.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that foolproof security arrangements have been finalized for Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH), which would be observed with religious fervor and reverence.
More than 5,000 police officers and jawans would be deployed for security duties across the city, he added.
Additionally, over 450 officers and traffic wardens would manage traffic flow effectively.
The CPO said, “Security arrangements have been made for 108 processions, including the central main procession. For the central procession, more than 2,400 officers will be on duty, while over 2,600 officers will be assigned to guard the other 107 processions.”
Walk-through gates would be installed at the entry points of the processions, and all participants would undergo thorough body searches before entering, he said.
The CPO informed that snipers would also be deployed on rooftops to monitor the situation closely. To further ensure safety, streets, roads, and routes leading to the procession would be sealed, he said.
Senior police officers have been directed to remain active and all police stations would be actively involved in providing security and patrolling during the processions, the CPO emphasized.
All available resources would be utilized to ensure foolproof security on Eid Milad-un-Nabi, he added.

IRSA releases 226,800 cusecs water

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP):Indus River System Authority (IRSA) on Monday released 226,800 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 168,300 cusecs.
According to the data released by IRSA, water level in River Indus at Tarbela Dam was 1545.16 feet and was 147.16 feet higher than its dead level of 1,398 feet. Water inflow and outflow in the dam was recorded as 91,900 cusecs and 130,000 cusecs respectively.
The water level in River Jhelum at Mangla Dam was 1227.50 feet, which was 179.50 feet higher than its dead level of 1,050 feet. The inflow and outflow of water was recorded each 19,600 cusecs.
The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa , Guddu and Sukkur was recorded as 156,300, 114,200, 106,000 and 61,000 cusecs respectively. Similarly, from River Kabul, a total of 28,200 cusecs of water released at Nowshera and 5,100 cusecs released from River Chenab at Marala.
