Pakistan poised to move to higher trajectory of economic growth: AIIB President

FRANKFURT, Germany, May 02 (APP): Asian Infrastructure
Investment Bank (AIIB) President JinLiqun said on Monday the
bank was willing to continue its support in the months to come
as Pakistan after having achieved macro economic stability,

was poised to move to a higher trajectory of economic growth.
Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics
and Privatization Mohammad Ishaq Dar met the AIIB President,
who was accompanied by Zhou Yong, Senior Adviser to the President,
Sir Danny Alexander, Vice President, Huan Chen, Chief Officer and
Henry Bell, Senior Secretariat Officer, here on the sidelines of
the ADB’s Annual Board of Governors Meeting.

The Finance Minister was accompanied by Tariq Bajwa,
Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD) and other members of
Pakistan’s delegation.

WASHINGTON, May 2 (APP): Controversy over Panama papers is diverting attention from key issues of national importance, including Kashmir, a prominent US-based Kashmiri Sardar Zubari Khan said on Saturday, calling on those agitating the issue to wait for the findings of the commission set up to probe the matter.

Talking to APP here, Mr Khan, the President of US chapter of AJK-based
Muslim Conference, said that Kashmir is an international issue that needs full support of all the political parties in Pakistan.

But, he regretted that the present controversy generated in the context of Panama leaks has once again pushed this important international conflict to the back burner.

Imran’s ATMs pose poor to get loans written off: Pervaiz

LAHORE, May 01 (APP): Federal Minister for Information,
Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Sunday
said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s aides were the poorest to get loans written off and the richest to send money abroad at the cost of the country.

Addressing a press conference along with Minister for Railways
Khwaja Saad Rafique and MNA Talal Chaudhry here at the PML N
Secretariat, he said the two close aides of Imran Khan, who were basically auto teller machines (ATMs) for him, had recently transferred money abroad. The PTI chief declared such an action unlawful while his party leaders had confessed their crime and they must be held accountable for the same.

One of the two leaders was spending lavishly to meet all
the expenses of Imran Khan’s kitchen to travels, he alleged.

LAHORE, May 1 (APP): Federal Minister for Railways
Khawaja Saad Rafique said that Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf
(PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s real target was to sabotage China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) through his politics of accusations.

Addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister
for Information and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid and MNA Talal Chaudhry at PML N Model Town Secretariat on Sunday, he said, neither Imran Khan had moved any resolution nor call attention notice in the parliament for the last eight years.

“Parliament is the proper fourm to discuss and resolve issues
in civilized societies but Imran neither had any knowledge regarding
rules and regulations of the parliament nor he presented any bill in the parliament,” he mentioned.

She said this while spaeaking at the closing ceremony of the
PCB AHC Girls Cup Cricket final played here at the Marghazar Cricket Ground.

The final was won by SOS School beating Mashal School. The AHC
and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with the support of Serena
Hotels hosted the inaugural PCB AHC Girls Cup.

Finance Minister arrives Frankfurt to attend ADB Meeting

ISLAMABAD, May 1 (APP): Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived Frankfurt on Sunday to lead the Pakistan delegation at the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of Asian Development Bank (ADB).

On arrival the Minister was received by senior ADB, German Government and Pakistan Embassy officials.

The Minister later attended a special briefing session arranged by the Pakistan Embassy where he was apprised about schedule of events of ADB meeting as well as his engagements on the sidelines of the main event.

DETRIOT, Michigan, May 1 (APP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Jalil Abbas Jilani, conferred with both Democratic and Republican lawmakers as well as members of the Pakistani community during a day long visit to Detriot in the US State of Michighan.

The Ambassador met Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow, a member of Senate’s Agriculture, Finance, Energy and Budget Committee, and briefed her about Pakistan’s potential in agriculture, energy, mining, gems, infrastructure, IT and telecom sectors as the geo economic hub of Asia, saying the under tapped Pakistani market should be explored, according to a press release.

Ambassaodor Jilani also underscored the role of the Pakistani American community in the development of Michigan.

different edcuational institutations, are eventually causing
a sense of despondency and deprivation for ‘specific’ groups
of students.

The ‘exclusive’ curriculums are not only creating
disappointment among students but also leading to a division
of society on class basis, in line with their educational
backgrounds.

Additionally, some students are rated ‘superior’ due to
efficient, advanced syllabus while others are given less
importance due to ‘general and old’ curriculums.
