Blast incidents drop from 483 to 27, rocket attacks 372 to 5 during 3 years in Balochistan: PM told

QUETTA, May 2 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was
apprised Monday that the bomb blast incidents in Balochistan had
dropped from 483 to 27 and rocket firing from 372 in 2013 to five
this year.

The Prime Minister, who was in the city to inaugurate development
projects, including National Health Programme, was given a detailed
briefing by Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah on law
and order at the Governor House.

The Chief Secretary apprised the Prime Minister that the
incidents of highway robberies had also declined from 90 in 2013
to nine this year while those of kidnapping for ransom also dropped
from 49 to eight during the same period.

SECP approves “First Sehat Tahafuz Plan’ micro insurance product

ISLAMABAD, May 2 (APP): The Securities and Exchange Commission
of Pakistan (SECP) has approved a new micro insurance product
under the SECP (Microinsurance) Rules, 2014 with the name
“First Sehat Tahafuz Plan”.
Under the plan, micro health (hospitalization) coverage
can be provided to low income clients of a microfinance
institution, a statement issued by the commission here.

The initiative is in line with the objectives of
National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) recently adopted
by the federal government, and aimed at promoting and
developing the microinsurance market in Pakistan.

QUETTA, May 2 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
Monday said his political opponents will have to wait beyond the
year 2018 for their turn as the people of Pakistan support progress and not anarchy.

Addressing the launch of the National Health Program in the
provincial capital of Balochistan here at the Governor’s House, the Prime Minister said his government was committed to change the political culture of the country from that of confrontation to serving the masses.

He said the PML N government was committed to provide a
transparent and corruption free system in the country and recalled that not a penny of corruption has been proved against any of his governments in his present and earlier two tenures, which were marked with efficiency and high performance.

QUETTA, May 2 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday inaugurated development projects worth billions of rupees in power, gas and infrastructure sectors in Balochistan.

The Prime Minister who arrived here earlier in the day unveiled the plaques of various projects.

Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, Federal and Provincial Ministers, members of the parliament and senior officials were also present on the occasion.

ISLAMABAD, May 2 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday said Pakistan was actively pursuing regional integration and the US $ 46 billion dollars investment and infrastructure projects of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would boost trade across the region.

Talking to DG World Trade Organization Roberto Azevedo who called on him here at the PM House, the Prime Minister said CPEC alone has the potential to immensely enhance trade amongst the regional countries and improve lives of millions in the region.

The Prime Minister while highlighting the importance of trade said Pakistan was gearing up its trade-related laws to achieve full integration in the Global Supply Chain.

and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday said Prime
Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif enjoying overwhelming support of

The Prime Minister, who had already faced accountability thrice,
presented himself again for fourth time, he said while talking to a
private channel.

The minister said common people did not want any crisis in
the country. They only desired economic stability. Foreign exchange
reserves were at unprecedented level and the government was fulfilling

ISLAMABAD, May 02 (APP): Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali
Khan Monday said the fate of Shakeel Afridi would be decided by
Pakistani courts and the Government of Pakistan, and not by Donald
Trump even if he became the President of United States.

Commenting on Donald Trump’s interview to Fox News, the
Interior Minister said Shakeel Afridi was a Pakistani citizen and
nobody else had the right to dictate us about his future, said a
press release.

He said it was not only about Shakeel Afridi but Trump’s
perception and the comments about Pakistan in his interview were
highly misplaced and unwarranted.

Nisar announces cash, commendation certificates for labourer

ISLAMABAD, May 02 (APP): Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali
Khan Monday announced cash prize and commendation certificate for a
labourer on informing 1717 Anti Terrorism Helpline Sheikhapura.

On information provided by labourer, two rocket launchers was
recovered from Sheikhapura by the security forces, said a press
release.

The Interior Minister said,”If every Pakistan will take
personal responsibility, the terrorist will not get any space in
Pakistan.” He said every person in the society should take responsibility
in this regard.

Period for WHT reduced rate extended by another month

ISLAMABAD, May 2 (APP): Finance Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar as Chairman, Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) has accorded anticipatory approval for extension in the period of applicability of reduced rate of withholding tax @ 0.4 per cent on banking transactions by non-filers up to May 31, 2016.
