He was presiding the meeting of Board of Governors of PIPS here on Tuesday. The matter of appointment of Executive Director of PIPS was the agenda of the meeting.

Govt. providing facilities to families of employees died during service
ISLAMABAD, May 10, (APP): Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs,
Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Tuesday said on the directive of the Prime Minister the package have been revised to compensate the families of government employees who died during service.
Responding a point of order in National Assembly, he said compensation for the families of government employees ranging from grade one to eleven has been increased three to five lac rupees and contract based jobs were being given to their relatives to ease their lives.
IMC Mayor visits Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation
(IMC) Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz Tuesday visited the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat.
Federal Ombudsman M Salman Faruqui received Sheikh Anser and
felicitated him on assuming the charge of first ever Mayor of IMC.
He expressed the confidence that under his dynamic leadership the

PM condemns attack on police in Quetta
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack in Quetta in which two police personnel lost their lives.
The Prime Minister in a message prayed to Allah Almighty for those who lost their lives in the cowardly attack.
He also directed best possible treatment for the injured.
Crime rate dropped in Capital: Senate told
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): Minister of State for Interior Balighur Rehman on Tuesday apprised the Senate that the number of proclaimed offenders had dropped from 5199 to 4043 in the Federal Capital after police started campaign in March this year.
Replying to a questione, the minister said the crime rate had dropped by 30 per cent in Islamabad due to joint patrolling of police and Rangers, implementation of National Action Plan and many other factors.
He said the police would arrest remaining proclaimed offenders soon.
Dar congratulates Gillani on recovery of Ali Gillani
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP):Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Tuesday evening phoned former Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gillani and congratulated him on recovery of his son Ali Haider Gillani.
He said it was indeed a happy occasion for the whole family, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance here on Tuesday.
The minister expressed good wishes for Ali Haider Gillani and other members of Yousaf Raza Gillani’s family, praying for their health and well being.
Conspiracy against democracy not to be tolerated: Qadir Baloch
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): Minister for States and Frontier Regions
(SAFRON) Lt. General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch said that the government would not tolerate any conspiracy against the democracy particularly in the name of accountability.
Talking to a private news channel he said, the opposition parties
should make demands falls within the parameters of democratic
traditions.
“We think that talks should also be held with the opposition on the
issue of TORs of the commission”, the Minister said.
NA session starts
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): National Assembly session on Tuesday started at 10:30 am with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
The session started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and
Naat.
The House is scheduled to take up agenda items including Calling Attention Notices, Legislative business and Introduction of Bill, Standing Committee’s reports and Motions.
Rain likely in most areas of Pakistan: Met office
ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP): New weather system is likely to enter Pakistan Tuesday evening that would help break the current closed weather spell in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Met office forecast.
According to a private news channel, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that a westerly wave is likely to strike upper and central parts of Pakistan.
Karachi will remain partly cloudy with temperature ranging between 34C to 36C on Tuesday. Dust storms and thunderstorms are expected at different places of Khyber PakhtunKhwa, Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions) from Tuesday to Sunday.
PM Nawaz has come to KP to serve its people: Pervaiz
ISLAMABAD, May 9 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had to come to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to serve its people as PTI Chairman Imran Khan had not disembarked from the container for last three years.
The minister, in a statement here, the KP people had not yet seen the new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran (PTI) chief, he said, had utilized the KP government resources for his election rally. The KP government brought people from acorss the province to fill only 2000 seats, he added.
