Governor calls for utilization of natural potentials of southern districts

PESHAWAR, May 16 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that Allah Almighty has bestowed southern districts with huge natural potentials if it properly utilized, it could change backwardness of these districts side by side the country.

It is high time to use these resources for amelioration of the lot of the common man.

This, he said, while addressing a public gathering at Kohat on Monday.
The gathering beside other was also addressed by former Governor Mahtab  Ahmad Khan, Provincial General Secretary PML (N) Rahmat Salam Khattak, former Federal Minister Abbas Khan Afridi and former District Nazim Kohat Malak Asad while Provincial President PML (N) Pir Sabir Shah and Tehsil Nazim Kohat Malik Taimoor were also present on the occasion.

RAWALAKOT, May 16 (APP): Special Advisor to Prime Minister Dr Asif Kirmani Monday said that the miserable performance of Majeed government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir had prompted Bilawal Bhutto
Zardari to hurl personal attacks on country’s leadership.

Speaking to PML-N Workers Convention here, Asif Kirmani said had the Majeed government served the people during their five years tenure, chairman Pakistan People Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would have avoided trading personal assaults on country’s leadership.

He lamented that had Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited AJK by road he should have sacked the Majeed government. The people of AJK will teach lesson to those, who used to campaign on helicopters.

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif Monday said when people were not even aware about the meaning and spelling of off-shore companies, Imran Khan set up off-shore companies in 1983 and also established off-shore companies for investing charity funds of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital.

Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament, flanked by Minister
for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique and Information Minister Senator
Pervaiz Rashid, he said that Imran Khan was preaching people to
invest in the country while he himself invested charity funds in
off-shore companies.

He said that Imran Khan was too smart that he remained silent
about his own off-shore company till it was revealed in the media
and he had to accept it.

PM presented himself for accountability on any forum: Musadik

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): Spokesman to the Prime Minister, Musadik Malik on Monday said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has once again presented himself for accountability on any forum on Panama Papers.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the Prime Minister in his
speech in the parliament, has given briefed statement on his family business and also presented evidences there.

He said the government was ready to form a commission with consensus of all political parties for investigation on Panama Papers.

ADB launches video contest to find new transport ideas for Asia

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched Youth Video Contest to find new transport ideas for Asia to promote safe, environment friendly and affordable transport for all.

The competition coincide with ADB’s 5th Transport Forum to be held in Manila ( Philippines) from September 12-16, said ADB press statement received here Monday.

The bank has invited participants to submit originally made, short videos, depicting how people, both individually and collectively, can make a difference in accelerating the drive for safe, environmentally friendly, accessible, and affordable transport for all.

Govt releases Rs474.255 bln for development projects

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): The government has so far released over Rs 474.255 billion for different social sector development projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2015-16 against the total allocations of Rs 700 billion earmarked for the current fiscal year.

As sum of Rs 101.833 billion has been released for Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) Power Sector for which the government has allocated an amount of Rs 113.896 billion for the current fiscal year, according to the latest data of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.

Similarly, Rs 21.787 billion have been released for Water and Power Division (Water Sector) for its various projects for building the water reservoirs against its total allocations of Rs 30.120 billion in federal PSDP 2015-16.

Prime Minister to break ground for DI Khan-Hakla Motorway on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will perform the ground breaking of a motorway to link Dera Ismail Khan with Hakla on Tuesday (May 17) as part of the Western alignment of China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

According to a PM House statement, the ground breaking ceremony would be held at Yarik area near D.I Khan.

Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarar would brief the Prime Minister on technical aspects of the project.

1000 mega watts will be added to national grid: Ranjha

SARGODHA,May 16 (APP):Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha (MNA) said PML-N government has taken solid steps to control energy crises which would pay dividends in due course of time.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of new transmission line of electricity at villages Dhengarwali, Banglow Jhoolpur and Qaim Hayat colony Tehsil Kot Momin said that 1000 MW electricity will be added to the national grid this year and loadshedding would end by 2018.

Ranjha said PML-N government was resolute to eradicate the evil roots of poverty,illiteracy,ignorance and terrorism from the country.

ICCI delegation calls on Chief of Air Staff

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (APP): A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President, Atif Ikram Sheikh Monday called on Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, at Pakistan Air Force Headquarters and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.

The Air Chief Marshal briefed the ICCI delegation about the activities
of Pakistan Air Force for further strengthening the aerial defense of the country.

Pakistan, Japan enjoying cordial relations: Abbasi

He expressed these views while talking to Ambassador of Japan and Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JISCA) who called on him separately.

While talking to Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai, he said that Pakistan valued high its relations with Japan and desired to further strengthening its relations with Japan through enhanced economic and
