Pak trade caravan reaches Kyrgyzstan, expo from May 18 at Bishkek

KARACHI, May 17 (APP): Pakistan’s trade caravan has reached Kyrgyzstan for two-day road show in Bishkek from May 18 to 19.

Pakistan Embassy in Bishkek has invited all relevant government organisations and chambers to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the event, said statement issued by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) here on Tuesday.

The city is full of promotional acitivities and it is expected that large number of people will visit the exhibition.

ISLAMABAD, May 17 (APP): Stressing the need for access to peaceful uses of nuclear technology as a socio-economic imperative, Pakistan on Tuesday indicated its interest in cooperation with the United States on peaceful applications of Nuclear Science in areas such as Health, Agriculture and Water.

The US expressed its interest in exploring such nuclear science cooperation with Pakistan.

The issue was discussed during the 8th round of Pakistan-US Security,
Strategic Stability, and Nonproliferation (SSS&NP) Working Group talks co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller here.

Dar pins hope on highest growth rate in FY 2015-16

ISLAMABAD, May 17 (APP): Finance Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar Tuesday expressed the hope that the GDP growth rate during the current year (2015-16) would be the highest in eight years.

Speaking at a function to commemorate the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2016, here the Finance Minister said that all the economic indicators have been performing well.

He said that inflation has decreased with remittances high while the
foreign exchange reserves have also witnessed a considerable growth during the past three years.

Preparations for OIC summit on S&T be made in Pakistan: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD, May 17, (APP): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign
Affairs, Sartaj Aziz Tuesday said all kind of preparations for OIC Summit on Science and Technology, to be held next year in Kazakhstan would be made in Pakistan.

Speaking on a calling attention notice in National Assembly, he said
the venue of the summit was changed on request of government of Kazakhstan.

He said this was a good forum for the OIC member countries to progress and boost cooperation in sector of Science and Technology.

PM inaugurates first phase of western route of CPEC

DI Khan, May 17 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here Tuesday  inaugurated the first phase of the western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) Yarik DI Khan to Rehmani Khel (55 kilometers long expressway) that would expedite pace of development in the southern districts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

Upon arrival at DI Khan, the Prime Minister was received by Khyber
Pakthunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, JUIF Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Federal Minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani, senior officials besides lawmakers and a large number of workers of PMLN and JUIF.

The Prime Minister formally inaugurated the 55 kilometers four-lane
expressway from Yarik DI Khan to Rehmanikhel on Indus Highway as part of first western route of CPEC.

Pak. expresses concern to UN over Indian move to violate UNSC Resolutions on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, May 17 (APP): Pakistan Tuesday expressed serious concern to the United Nations Secretary General and its president on Indian violations of UNSC’s resolutions on Kashmir and its efforts to introduce a controversial “Geospatial Information Regulation Bill” in the Indian Parliament. Pakistan’s concern has been conveyed to the Secretary General and President of the UN Security Council, through letters by its Permanent Representative in New York, said a statement of the Foreign Office Spokesman here.

“In violation of UNSC resolutions, the official map of India has been depicting the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir as part of India which is factually incorrect and legally untenable”, it said.

Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshaid Dasti pointed out the quorum  during the session.

Following this, the speaker National Assembly suspended the session till
