RAWALPINDI April 3 (APP): The valiant troops of Pakistan Army have got cleared around 640 square kms including all peaks of over 9000 feet in Shawal area of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) from the terrorists during the last two months of operation. “Since launch of last phase in February 2016, Army troops have been fighting valiantly and have cleared 640 Square Kilometers of Shawal area in North Wazirastan Agency,” Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news update issued here on Sunday stated. Main terrorist hubs of the areas including Mana, Gurbaz, Lataka, Inzarkas and Magrotai have been cleared of terrorists while the battle to clear last pocket close to Pakistan-Afghan border has been continuing.
Govt pursuing concrete measures for people's welfare: Pervaiz
FAISALABAD, April 3 (APP): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said Sunday the government was making concrete measures for the development and welfare of the masses. Pervaiz Rashid inaugurates T-20 Blind Cricket Series

PM expresses deep grief over loss of lives in KPK floods
ISLAMABAD, Apr 3 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives due to flash floods, triggered by rains in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Prime Minister has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other concerned authorities to ensure timely relief activities for the victims, including provision of proper medical care, food and shelter for the affected. The concerned authorities were further directed to keep him updated on the situation, said a press release of the PM Office media wing.
President grieved over rain-related losses
ISLAMABAD, Apr 3 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Sunday expressed his deep grief and sorrow over heavy loss of lives and property caused by heavy rains and consequent flood-like situation in different parts of the country. According to a President House statement, he sympathised with the bereaved families and prayed for forgiveness of the departed souls. Arif Lohar starts preparation of video album of Sufi poetry
LAHORE, Apr 2 (APP): Famous folk singer, Arif Lohar has started the preparation of his video album containing Sufi poetry.
Talking to APP here on Saturday, he said that thousands of admirers and listeners of spiritual poetry of Muslim saints were present in every country.
He said that he sang every type of songs in 30 years, but now he feels that public trend was developing towards sufi poetry.
He said that he travelled to dozens of countries and in every country, Pakistani and Indian Muslims asked him to recite sufi poetry.
Chinese to establish industrial units in CPEC'
SIALKOT, Apr 2 (APP): A 11-member delegation of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textile and Apparel will visit Pakistan to attend Texpo Fair which is scheduled to be held from April 7 to 10. In an interview with APP, Chief Coordinator Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Ijaz A. Khokhar disclosed this here on Saturday. He said the PRGMEA would arrange factory visits for the Chinese delegation and B2B meetings with its members, adding the visit of delegation was the result of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
