Maintaining offshore firms a legal option: Hussain Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, Apr 4 (APP): Hussain Nawaz, son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday said that maintaining offshore companies was a legal option available in various countries to avoid paying unnecessary taxes and that there was no need to conceal his assets abroad. Talking to a private television channel, he said there was nothing bad in owning the offshore company. I never concealed my property abroad, he added. He clarified that Panama leaks and The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) have made no allegations of wrongdoing against Sharif family and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif owned none of the corporations mentioned in the leaks.

ISLAMABAD, April 4 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday asked chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan to prove his baseless allegations against sons of the prime minister in courts of the United Kingdom. Addressing a press conference along with Daniyal Aziz, MNA here, he said in case allegations against PM’s family in court of law proved correct and Imran returned respectfully, he would garland Imran at the airport and PML-N would pay entire expenditure of the case along with Imran’s personal expenses in UK. He said that Panama documents have confirmed the stance of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that they have no assets abroad.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 4 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday said despite inheriting major challenges including power crisis, deteriorating economy and law and order, the government team with its hard work had steered the country towards better position. Talking to Saudi Arabia’s Chairman Majlis-e-Shura Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Al-Sheikh here at the PM House, the Prime Minister said the country was experiencing highest foreign reserve account in the history. The Prime Minister mentioned that there was zero power load-shedding in industrial sector and much reduced electricity outage for domestic users now.

 

Govt to provide all resources for education: President

The President made the remarks while chairing a meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Federal Urdu University at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. CDWP, ECNEC approval awaited for IP gas pipeline project after lifting of sanctions: Official

ISLAMABAD, April 3 (APP):The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources is awaiting approval of CDWP and ECNEC to apply for foreign funding to lay pipeline on Pakistani side under the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project after lifting of international sanctions on Iran. “To formally apply for financing as Buyer’s Credit, as per procedure, the PC-I of the project needs to be approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) and Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). The PC-I has been submitted by the ministry and approval of the same is awaited,” a senior official of the ministry told APP Sunday.

ISLAMABAD, April 3 (APP): The whole Pakistan nation cheered West  Indies while they pursued the 155-run target set by England to grab World Twenty20 Cup at Kolkata, India, on Sunday. In the last over, it seemed that the dream victory had drifted away from West Indies as 19 runs were required in six balls. But it was Carlos Brathwaite, who hit four consecutive sixes on the first four  balls of Ben Stokes to win the second cup for the country in a day. Earlier in the day, the WI women team won the laural by beating  Australia.

Pervaiz Rashid inaugurates T-20 Blind Cricket Series

FAISALABAD, Apr 3 (APP): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid inaugurated the Twenty-20 (T-20) Blind Cricket Series at Iqbal Stadium here on Sunday. Winning the toss, the Sri Lankan captain Ravan Wasantha decided to bat first and the Federal Information Minister kicked off the cricket series by playing a ball.  The cricket series will continue till April 5.
