Governor KPK calls on Prime Minister Sharif

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday said future of FATA would be decided as per the wishes and popular will of the people and no decision will be imposed on the tribesmen.

He was talking to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra  on matters related to development of FATA, here at the PM House.

The Prime Minister said the government was very much alive to the needs for FATA reforms. While appreciating the spirit of patriotism of tribal people, the Prime Minister said tribal people had left their homes and native places for great national cause and their sacrifices would never go in vain.

CPEC to turn Pakistan into modern industrial economy: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP): Minister for Planning,
Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal Friday said that real
target of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative was to turn Pakistan into a modern industrial economy.

Addressing a conference of Chinese investors jointly
organized by China’s National Development and Reforms Commission and Pakistan Mission, in Beijing, he said that Pakistan was an attractive investment place for Chinese businessmen.

The Chinese investors could bring about far reaching
results by initiating joint ventures of Pakistani businessmen.
He said that 200 million population, out of which two
third was youth, and business friendly policies, better security and economic situation were attractive for the investors.

Defending Futsal champion Pakistan waiting for Indian visas

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (APP): India has not yet granted visas to the Pakistan team which is to participate in the South Asian Futsal Championship scheduled to be played there from May 3.

According to Malik Adnan, Secretary, Pakistan Futsal Federation (PFF), Pakistan won the championship last year in Nepal. “How can India stop us to participate in the championship in which we are defending the title,” he said.

He said this is total discrimination on part of India as they should “show some sportsman spirit and grant us the visas so that we can timely participate in the championship”..

China sees relations with Pakistan ever stronger: Wang Yi

ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP): Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi has said that China-Pak relations are very strong like ever.

Talking to Voice of America (VOA), he said that both the countries are closely cooperating with each other on China Pak Economic Corridor.

He said China is hopeful for more strengthening of bilateral relations on the occasion of 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Nisar expresses concern over ARY anchor’s arrest in Karachi

ISLAMABAD, April 29 (APP): Minister for Interior and Narcotics
Control, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan on Friday expressed concern over
arrest of an anchor of a private television channel ARY News,
Iqrar ul Hasan in Karachi.

In a statement issued here, the Minister said federal and
provincial governments should learn a lesson and get guidance instead of showing an annoyance on such a sting operation.

He said Iqrar ul Hassan was an active and efficient journalist
but he was misbehaved rather than getting an appreciation which was inappropriate. Sting operations are common in the world but Iqrar ul Hassan was misbehaved in Karachi.

LAHORE, April 29 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting at Commissioner Office Bahawalpur to review the pace of development projects in south Punjab especially Bahawalpur division.

The Chief Minister while addressing the meeting, which lasted six hours, announced ten percent additional quota for south Punjab in Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme and other development schemes, said a handout issued here.

He said that repair and rehabilitation of rural roads would be carried out in south Punjab at a cost of billions of rupees under Pakian Sarkan Sukhay Painday Programme.

business community of Faisalabad would have detailed discussion to incorporate FCCI proposals in federal budget 2016 17, said State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Friday.

He was addressing here pre budget seminar jointly organized by
Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and Institute of Cost and Management Accounts of Pakistan (ICMAP).

The minister said despite severe financial constraints, the present
government had successfully resolved the energy crisis.
He said load shedding for industrial sector had become zero while
problem of gas had also been resolved on permanent basis.

BERKELEY, April 27 (APP): Pakistan on Tuesday called for building trust among key stakeholders of the region to advance peace and stability in South Asia, saying a strong US Pakistan partnership will strengthen efforts to contribute to security and stability in the region.

“The most fundamental element to advance peace and stability in South Asia is building trust among the key stake holders of the region especially Afghanistan, Pakistan and the US on the one hand and Pakistan and India on the other,” Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, Jalil Abbas Jilani said while speaking at the University of California in Berkeley on the significance of Paksitan US relations towards security and stability in South Asia.

The ambassador said that a strong US Pakistan partnership will only strengthen our ability to contribute to security and stability in the region.

Mega projects in Mansehra to bring development: Yousuf

ISLAMABAD, Apr 29 (APP): Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar
Muhammad Yousuf Friday said that several mega projects inagurated by the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Mansehra would bring development in the area.

The Prime Minister inaugurated billions of rupees projects of motorways, roads, gas, Hazara University and other development and welfare projects as it was long lasting demand from the masses of the area, he said while talking to Pakistan Television (PTV).

The minister said the people would reject all those elements creating
hurdles in the way of the uplift and prosperity of the country and masses.
