Christian community playing key role in Pakistan’s development, prosperity: Mushaal

RAWALPINDI, Dec 22 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, congratulating the Christian community on Christmas, has said that the Christian community was playing a key role in the development and prosperity of the country.

She said that the Christian community members were performing significant services while all the minorities including the Christian community had equal rights in Pakistan.

Addressing a ceremony organized by Archbishop Rawalpindi-Islamabad Dr Joseph Arshad in connection with Christmas celebrations, Mushaal said that atrocities were being committed on minorities in India and the international community should to take notice of that.

Station Commander Rawalpindi Brig. Ahmad Nawaz, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Chaudhry Tanveer, Barrister Daniyal, Chaudhry Osama, Malik Abrar, Ziaullah Shah and Rashid Khan, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sibt-ul-Hasan Bukhari, businessman Sheikh Muhammad Hafeez, Shoaib Sadal, Member of the peace committee, Babu Sajid Amin Khokhar, Frayad Francis, Napoleon Gomez, Sanobar Gill, ambassadors of various countries, Hindu, Sikh and Christian leaders, Ulema Izhar Bukhari, Hafiz Iqbal Rizvi and
Pir Azmatullah, and administrative officers attended the ceremony.

Archbishop Dr Joseph Arshad, in his remarks, said,”Christmas gives us the message of peace and brotherhood, and the Christian community will continue to strive for the development and prosperity of the beloved country like before.”

He urged the Christian community to remember their needy and deserving brothers in the festivities of Christmas and share them in their joy.

He congratulated the Christian community on Christmas, which, he said, was a message of peace, reconciliation and love. The community would continue its efforts for the promotion of love and affection.

On this occasion, special guest Mushaal Mullicik lit the candle of peace along with Dr Joseph Arshad and other distinguished guests. A Christmas cake was also cut later.

Mushaal acknowledges Christian community’s role in national development

RAWALPINDI, Dec 22 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment Ms Mushaal Hussein Mullick Friday congratulated the Christian community on Christmas and said that they have a key role in the development and prosperity of the country.

She expressed these views while addressing the get-to-gather ceremony organized by the Christian spiritual leader Archbishop Rawalpindi-Islamabad Dr. Joseph Arshad.

She said that the Christian Community was performing noteworthy services and that all minorities including the Christian community have equal rights in Pakistan.

Mushaal said that in India atrocities were being committed on minorities and that the international community must take notice of the violations of human rights.

On the occasion, Dr Joseph Arshad said that Christmas gives us the message of peace and brotherhood and the Christian community will continue to strive for the development and prosperity of the beloved country like before.

He urged the Christian community to remember their needy and deserving brothers in the joy of Christmas.

Later, Mushaal Hussain Malik lit the candle of peace and cut the cake along with Archbishop Rawalpindi-Islamabad Dr. Joseph Arshad and other distinguished guests.

Station Commander Rawalpindi Brigadier Ahmad Nawaz, representative of minority communities and local leaders of various political parties also participated in the event.

FM Jilani saddened over life loss in tragic Prague University shooting

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (APP): Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on Friday expressed his condolence over the loss of life in a tragic shooting that took place at Charles University of Prague on Thursday.

As per media reports, a student opened fire in a Charles University of Prague, killing at least 14 people and injuring more than 20.

Expressing heartfelt condolence to the families of the victims, the foreign minister also prayed for the recovery of all the injured.

“Deeply saddened by the tragic shooting that took place at Charles University Prague, yesterday. In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the recovery of all the injured,” the foreign minister wrote on social media platform X.

Railways to introduce fuel track management system

LAHORE, Dec 22 (APP):In a meeting, led by Pakistan Railways Secretary/Chairman Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, at the PR headquarters here on Friday, the introduction of a fuel track management system was announced to monitor and optimise fuel supply, aiming to curtail expenditures.
The shift to an online fuel management system was emphasised, with exploration of various fuel supply options and collaboration with oil marketing companies.
The PR chairman ordered for installation of electric meters in residential units at the railways colonies and urged acceleration of transitioning the railway network to solar power. The meeting highlighted efforts to enhance healthcare facilities, with plans to open railway hospitals in Quetta on December 25 and Peshawar on December 31 for public access.
To bolster medical services, an advertisement has been issued to hire doctors and allied health staff on a sharing basis at the Karen Hospital. The PR administration was instructed to compile departmental temporary labour appointment (TLA) employee lists by division, eliminate non-essential categories and vacant resident seats, and continue recruitment aligned with the railway requirements.
In a move to improve passenger amenities, the meeting decided to install executive toilets at major railway stations. Additionally, the development of acquiring land for the Thar coal project was reviewed, emphasising the railway’s commitment to sustainable practices.
The meeting was attended by PR Chief Executive Officer Aamir Baloch and other senior officers.
