Commissioner visits ‘Model Bazar’ Bhera

SARGODHA, Mar 26 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti visited Model Bazaar Bhera and checked the quality and prices of fruits and vegetables and other consumable items here on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner(DC) Capt(retd) Shoaib Ali and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Bhera were also accompanied him.
According to a spokesperson,the government of Punjab was facilitating the public by selling essential items according to official rates under the Ramzan Negehban program.
Commissioner Sargodha inspected various stalls and instructed the local administration to ensure that every citizen coming to Model Bazaar was provided relief and no shopkeeper indulges in overpricing or illegitimate profiteering.
He also directed the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Bhera to monitor the market on a daily basis and keep the deployed staff alert on their duties.

CM decides to establish liver transplant center

PESHAWAR, Mar 26 (APP):Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has announced plans to establish a liver transplant and bone marrow transplant center aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the province.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting attended by provincial cabinet members, health experts, and officials.
The initial liver transplant center is slated to be established at the Institute of Kidney Diseases in Peshawar, with plans to relocate these vital facilities to Khyber Medical University.
Additionally, the meeting also decided on plans for setting up the Institute of Neurosurgery, to be located at Fountain House Peshawar.
The provincial government aims to provide accessible liver and bone marrow transplant services to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thereby mitigating the necessity for individuals to seek treatment outside the province.
Moreover, efforts are underway to ensure round-the-clock availability of dialysis services in government hospitals equipped with such amenities, with endeavors to introduce dialysis services in hospitals currently lacking them.
The Chief Minister said that these initiatives underscore the commitment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to prioritize the health and well-being of its citizens.

Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, Mar 26 (APP):Four ships namely, MSC Mundra VIII, MSC Spring III, Nimble Nicky and Shiva scheduled to load/offload Container, Iron Ore and LPG, berthed at Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on report period.
Meanwhile five more ships, MSC Maeva, Kerala, Port Imabari, Dravin and Milaha Ras Laffan scheduled to load/offload Container, Furnace oil, LPG and LNG also arrived at outer-anchorage of the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Ten ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, MSC Mundra VIII and Forshun left the Port on today morning while three more ships, Ullswater, Shiva and Mackenzie are expected to sail ontoday afternoon.
Cargo volume of 140,659 tonnes, comprising 112,201 tonnes imports cargo and 28,458 tonnes export cargo carried in 1,647 Containers (840 TEUs Imports and 807 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Nine ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them five ships, Solar Roma, Port Imabari, Dravin, Milaha Ras Laffan and MSC Maeva & two more ships, Maersk Santosa and Xpress Bardsey carrying Palm oil, Coal, LPG, LNG and Container are expected to take berths at LCT, PIBT, EVTL, PGPCL and QICT on Tuesday, while two more container ships, Marathopolis and X-Press Mekong are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.

PNCA hosting painting competition themed “land & People of Pakistan”

ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP):Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is hosting a drawing and painting competition themed ‘Land and People of Pakistan’ for individuals aged 6 to 25 years.
The competition was specially being organized in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations.
Director General PNCA Muhammad Ayoub Jamali told APP that the purpose of this competition is to engage the youth in healthy activities along with educating them about the beauty of our country.
He said that interested young artists should submit their artwork on A4 size paper till March 27, 2024.
He said that PNCA is taking various initiatives to facilitate youth with healthy activities on special occasions like Pakistan Day celebrations.

Two brick kilns sealed

SARGODHA, Mar 26 (APP):The Environment Protection Department (EPD) sealed two brick-kilns over violating government instructions regarding smog across the district,here on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for the EPD, the teams conducted raids at various areas of tehsil Sargodha including Chak no 117 SB and Chak no 118 SB and found that Muhammad Arshad and Gulzar were running brick-kilns without using the zigzag technology.
The teams sealed the brick-kilns and registered cases.

Over Rs. 58 billion disbursed among beneficiaries under Benazir Kafaalat scheme

ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has disbursed over Rs. 58 billion among over 55,00,000 beneficiaries from across the country so far under the Benazir Kafaalat scheme.

The disbursement of the quarterly tranche (Jan-March) of Rs.10,500 of Benazir Kafaalat scheme is continued across the country smoothly.

“Till March 25 at 4:00 pm, over Rs. 58 billion has been disbursed among over 55,00,000 beneficiaries of Benazir Kafaalat programme which makes 59.6 percent of the total beneficiaries”, an official source revealed.

The payment process is continued across the country, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan simultaneously to disburse the increased payment of Rs. 10,500 per household among over nine million registered beneficiary families.

The beneficiaries have been advised to receive their full payment through the agent/representative of their nearest designated bank and contact the toll-free number 080026477 or the nearest Tehsil offices in case of any deduction.

Besides Benazir Kafaalat stipend payments, the disbursement of education stipends is also being carried out across the country. In some areas, the special Ramzan grant is also being issued to the beneficiaries, he added.
The special control room has been activated in the BISP headquarters to address the complaints of the beneficiaries promptly.

The messages from the Benazir Income Support Program are sent only from 8171, and messages from any other number should not be trusted. The officials of BISP have been directed to ensure the smooth disbursement of Kafaalat payments to the women respectively without any deductions.

The staff has been deputed to monitor the process of payment disbursement and take immediate action against the agents responsible for deductions from the beneficiary’s payments.

The BISP is currently supporting 9.3 million deserving families and acting as a lifeline for those facing economic hardship.
The Unconditional Cash Transfers (UCT) program, also known as the “Benazir Kafaalat Programme,” is the core initiative of BISP and was launched in 2008. Since its inception, the UCT/Kafaalat initiative has grown to the extent that it is now the largest single cash transfer program in Pakistan’s history.

Over 303,000 unregistered Afghans via KP: Home Deptt

PESHAWAR, Mar 26 (APP):As many as 303,162 Afghans have been returned to their own country via three border points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the volunteer return and repatriation of unregistered and illegally residing foreigners in the country.
According to statistics from the Home Department, 296,412 voluntarily returned to their country while 6,750 were deported through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It said that a total of 297,017 people have returned from the Torkham border point, 5446 via Angoor Ada and 689 through Kharlachi.

Pak-Qatar sign agreements to boost Pakistani workforce opportunities in Qatar

ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP):The government of Pakistan and Qatar have signed several agreements and letter’s of Intent (LOIs) with top Qatari companies the main purpose of this initiative was set to significantly enhance employment opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in Qatar.
An official source told APP, the signing of these Agreements with renowned Qatari firms, including Qatari Diyar-Saudi Bin Laden Group Construction (QD-SBG), Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting Company W.L.L (HBK), Ali Bin Ali Holding W.L.L, Sheikh Jabor Bin Mansour Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al Thani (JMJ) Holding, Tabeeb Care Medical Services, and Al Rawnaq International Commercial Projects, marks a crucial step in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar in the field of human resource development.
In addition to these agreements, the Pakistani delegation held a significant meeting with Mr. Hamad Saleh Al Qamra, Chairman of Al Qamra Holding, focusing on the recruitment of Pakistani manpower for various company projects. The visit also included a tour of the View Hospital, a part of Elegancia Health Care, where the recruitment of Pakistani health professionals is underway following a recent MoU between Elegancia Health Care and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) of Pakistan.
The primary objective of these initiatives is to create enhanced employment avenues for Pakistani workers in Qatar. SAPM Malik highlighted the potential of Pakistan as a key manpower exporter and detailed the government’s efforts to streamline this process through quality recruitment agencies, skill development, and addressing foreign employers’ needs.
The CEOs of the Qatari companies expressed satisfaction with the Pakistani workforce and their willingness to increase Pakistani manpower in their companies, adhering to the governmental regulations of Qatar. The meetings also shed light on the growing demand for skilled labor in sectors like services, maintenance, hospitality, and construction, following Qatar’s significant infrastructural development.
These agreements and discussions represent a significant stride in increasing the presence of the Pakistani workforce in Qatar, paving the way for mutual economic growth and stronger bilateral ties.

ANF recovers 640 kg drugs in five operations

RAWALPINDI, Mar 26 (APP): Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting five operations across the country managed to recover 640 kg drugs and arrested five accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman here on Tuesday.

He informed that 230 kg heroin and 220 kg crystals were recovered from the Western Bypass Quetta area. In the second operation, 100 kg opium and 80 kg hashish were recovered from Mashkil Chagai. In the third operation, 6.8 kg weed was recovered from three accused arrested from Sher Shah Toll Plaza Multan.

602 grams weed was recovered from Khanna Bridge Islamabad and 2.5 kg hashish was recovered from the possession of two accused netted near Saddar in Rawalpindi.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations are under process.
