China-Pakistan Gandhara art exhibition culminates in Shenzhen, China
BEIJING, Mar 26 (APP): The largest China-Pakistan Gandhara art exhibition in China history, showcasing over 170 artifacts from seven different museums in Pakistan was successfully culminated at Shenzhen Museum.
The exhibition titled Gandhara Heritage along the Silk Road: A Joint China-Pakistan Exhibition debuted last year at the prestigious Palace Museum in Beijing for three months but due to overwhelming interest from the Chinese audience, it evolved into a touring exhibition, making stops in Gansu and finally Shenzhen, following necessary legal procedures.
The closing ceremony of the exhibition was attended by senior Chinese officials including Wang Xudong, Director of the Palace Museum; Zeng Xianglai, Director of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism, and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen; Jia Jianwei, Director of Gansu Provincial Museum; and Huang Chen, Director of Shenzhen Museum, China Economic Net (CEN) reported.
The Pakistani side was represented by the Pakistan Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, along with the Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou and officials from the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing and the Pakistani Consulate-General in Guangzhou.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hashmi reflected on the significance of the initiative, highlighting the successful collaboration between Pakistan and China in organizing the largest Gandhara Art Exhibition in China’s history.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of cultural exchanges and people-to-people initiatives. He also hinted at future joint initiatives, indicating ongoing plans for further exhibitions showcasing shared heritage between the two countries.
Additionally, he illuminated Pakistan’s rich historical legacy as the seat of Gandhara civilization and its contributions to cultural exchanges along the ancient Silk Road.
Four terrorists killed in D I Khan IBO
RAWALPINDI, Mar 26 (APP): As many as four terrorists were killed on March 25th during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) conducted in Dera Ismail Khan District, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release, an intense exchange of fire took place between the forces and the insurgents, whereas the killed terrorists were identified as Terrorist Mustafa, Terrorist Qismat Ullah and Terrorist Islam Ud Din.
The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous subversive activities against the security forces and killing of innocent civilians. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
The locals of the area appreciated the operation. A sanitization operation was being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces were determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.
One soldier martyred, four terrorists killed in Turbat Naval Base attack
RAWALPINDI, Mar 26 (APP): A sepoy of the Frontier Corps Balochistan on Tuesday embraced martyrdom while four terrorists were killed during a swift and effective response of the security forces to the terrorists’ attack on the Pakistan Naval Base and the Navy Ship PNS Siddique in Turbat while ensuring the safety and security of the personnel and assets.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release, the terrorists attempted to attack the Naval Base on the night of March 25th and 26th.
However, the security forces in the vicinity were immediately mobilised to support the naval troops. “Synergetic & effective response by the armed forces enabled killing of all four terrorists in ensuing joint clearance operation,” the ISPR said.
The martyred soldier was identified as Sepoy Noman Fareed (age 24 years, resident of Muzaffargarh) of Frontier Corps Balochistan, having fought gallantly, embraced, shahadat, during intense exchange of fire.
“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. Pakistan Armed Forces remain committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs,” the ISPR said.
PM lauds security forces for foiling terrorist attack on Turbat naval airbase
ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday appreciated the security forces for thwarting a terrorist attack on Turbat naval airbase.
Due to a prompt and effective response by the security forces, terrorists were sent to hell, thus saving the country from a huge damage, PM Office Media Wing, in a press release, quoted the prime minister as saying.
The prime minister also expressed the resolve to crush the specter of terrorism. The entire nation was standing with their brave security forces and paid tribute to them, he added.
